Background and History

Hinata was initially a shy, anxious member of the Hyuga Clan who quietly worried while Naruto fought several classmates. She gathered the courage to approach him and offer him food, beginning a connection that would become central to her life. 4

After buying beef with Naruto, she accepted his offer to walk her home and mistook the frog-decorated letter he gave her for a love letter. It was instead an IOU for 100,000 Ryo, including the cost of her beef; Naruto refused to accept her kindness for free. 10 Her father, Hyuga Hiashi, reacted by forbidding contact with Naruto and later attempted to pay Naruto to leave her alone.
