Background

Su Chen was originally a disciple of the Mountain River Sect and returned to Qingcheng City to seek money from his father, Su Mengbai, after offending another disciple. Upon learning that Su Mengbai had been assassinated, the original Su Chen died; a consciousness transmigrated from Earth then occupied his body, retaining only fragmented memories of its former owner. 1

As Su Mengbai's sole heir, Su Chen was pressed by Deputy Tower Master Ling Tianhe to inherit the Golden Wind Fine Rain Tower. Initially reluctant because of his Postnatal-stage strength and the suspicious circumstances of his father's death, he received a supernatural reward system that granted him Bai Tianyu, the Ice Qilin Arm, and White Draw Cards. He accepted the Tower Master position to investigate the assassination and protect himself. 1 2

Personality

Su Chen is cautious, calculating, and strongly motivated by self-preservation. He initially concealed his strength and cultivated a prodigal image at Yuchun Courtyard to make Qingcheng City's factions lower their guard. 3 4

After his first kill, he became markedly more confident and assertive, taking control of the Tower's managers and directly challenging Ling Tianhe for information. 7 9 10 He is willing to use coercion, enslavement talismans, assassination, and the destruction of evidence when he considers them necessary. 15 18 43

Despite his ruthlessness, Su Chen usually avoids needless danger, favors preparation and intelligence gathering, and evaluates alliances by their practical value. 27 37 43

“Cherishing life is for longer cultivation. I'm not very willing to put myself in danger.” 37

Abilities & Skills

Reward System and White Draw Cards

Su Chen's primary advantage is a system that rewards discoveries, completed objectives, and major actions with character cards, cultivation methods, equipment, and White Draw Cards. 1 7 21 32

  • Obtained the character card for Invincible Divine Blade Bai Tianyu, who acts as his hidden protector. 1 2
  • Received cultivation methods, pills, wealth, tools, and special cards through White Draw Cards. 7 13 21 33
  • Earned rewards for investigating Su Mengbai's death, killing enemies, refining Blood God Pills, and learning secret information. 1 7 21 32 47

Ice Qilin Arm

Su Chen fused the Ice Qilin Arm into his left arm to keep his dominant right arm from exposing the ability too easily. The arm produces extremely cold, ice-attributed Innate qi and was the source of his first breakthrough into the Innate Realm. 2

  • Freezes the surrounding area and channels cold energy through his meridians. 2
  • Killed Song Yuan with a single punch; investigators identified the fatal cold energy on the corpse. 6 7
  • Helped him sever Lei Ao's head with the Fine Rain Blade. 20
  • Can manifest a qilin phantom in battle, but consumes his Innate qi rapidly. 30

Vajra Primordial Force

A thirteen-layer body-refining cultivation method that tempers the body with internal energy. Its first three layers refine the skin and membranes; later stages refine flesh, blood, bone marrow, internal organs, and eventually primordial unity. 6

  • Uses Qi and Blood Pills to accelerate physical tempering. 13
  • Greatly increases raw strength and durability; its fifth layer refines flesh and blood, allowing minor wounds to heal quickly. 33 47
  • Allowed Su Chen to withstand Qin Hao's attacks and injure him through repeated close-range strikes. 31
  • By Chapter 47, Su Chen could pulverize hard stone with his bare palm and kill an unsuspecting Early Innate cultivator with one punch. 47

Vajra Demon Splitter Cultivation Method

A body-tempering method focused on explosive power through the collision of qi and blood. It complements the Vajra Primordial Force but changes the body's musculature during use. 33 47

  • Su Chen began cultivating its first layer after acquiring Blood God Pills. 32 33
  • Grants access to the Vajra Shattering Form before the first layer is fully completed. 47

Saber Arts

Su Chen possesses the Dusk Fine Rain Saber Technique and Golden Wind Fine Rain Force inherited from Su Mengbai, as well as a one-time 20-year Blade Cultivation Technique reward. 7 13

  • Enhanced the Fine Rain Blade with a Weapon Primary Enhancement Card, awakening saber intent and improving his comprehension of the Dusk Fine Rain Saber Technique. 17
  • Uses a seemingly soft, drizzle-like saber aura that can abruptly become overwhelming and lethal. 38
  • Killed Lei Ao by cutting through his qi barrier and later slew Lei Yao with the Dusk Fine Rain Saber Technique. 20 38 39
  • Used Blood Piercing Nails as concealed weapons during the battle against Du Yuan and the Northern Commandery forces. 33 42

Enslavement Talismans

Su Chen acquired Primary Enslavement Talismans through White Draw Cards and uses them to ensure obedience from subordinates. 13

  • Enslaved Ling Tianhe, placing Ling's life and death under his control. 15
  • Enslaved Steward Fu despite the steward's longstanding loyalty to the Su family. 18
  • Uses enslaved personnel for intelligence gathering, internal purges, and the management of the Golden Wind Fine Rain Tower. 15 18

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Fine Rain Blade — Su Mengbai's thin, exceptionally sharp saber; strengthened by Su Chen until it displayed saber intent and approached Artifact Grade. 16 17 21
  • Space Ring — A three-cubic-meter storage ring obtained from a White Draw Card. 7
  • God Concealing Robe — A robe acquired through White Draw Cards. 13
  • Blood Piercing Nails — Concealed weapons useful against opponents unable to block or withstand them physically. 33
  • Blood Devouring Flood Dragon Diagram — A blood-attributed diagram taken from Qin Hao's residence; it stirs Su Chen's Innate qi and bloodthirst but is suppressed by the Ice Qilin Arm. 33
  • Beginner Beast Taming Card — A card capable of controlling a fierce beast, subject to a success rate. 21
  • Blood God Pills — Pills refined from Qin Hao's blood pool to strengthen qi and blood for body cultivation. 32 33

Internal Purge and Control of Ling Tianhe

After killing Song Yuan to provoke his enemies, Su Chen confronted Ling Tianhe, forced information from him, and enslaved him. Ling subsequently eliminated eight disloyal Tower stewards and their households on Su Chen's behalf. 6 7 10 15 18

Revenge Against Lei Hall

Qin Hao's Blood Pool

Blood Demon Flower Conflict

Working with Liu Wumei, Su Chen investigated the Blood Demon Flower at Qin Cui Mountain, discovered the Blood Cloud Yin Sha Banner formation, and fought the Northern Commandery's agents. Bai Tianyu's Public Emergence

To redirect attention away from himself, Su Chen made Bai Tianyu's identity public, ordered Ling Tianhe and Bai Tianyu to destroy Lei Hall and the Lei Family, and transferred the Golden Wind Fine Rain Tower's public leadership to Bai Tianyu. 40 43 44

Secret Places and New Alliances

Su Chen learned from Zi Hanyue that the Cold Moon Sect was pursued for five secret locations tied to Great Chu treasures, but declined to help her search for them.
