Background / History

The Golden Wind Fine Rain Tower was founded in Qingcheng City by Su Mengbai, who had come from the Mu Family of Zitan Palace. Its links to Zitan Palace made other local powers wary of directly targeting it. 12 15 49

Before Su Mengbai's death, the Tower ranked among Qingcheng City's five major powers. It controlled the western district of the city and ranked third in financial strength among the five factions; the other major powers were Lei Hall, Gathering of Sages Hall, Canteen Hall, and Vajra Temple. 2

Su Mengbai's unexplained assassination destabilized the organization. His son and sole heir, Su Chen, was installed as Tower Master by Deputy Tower Master Ling Tianhe, who initially intended to use him as a disposable figurehead. 1 4

Su Chen gradually asserted control by enslaving Ling Tianhe, ordering the investigation of Su Mengbai's death, and purging stewards connected to rival powers. Eight of the Tower's stewards were eliminated during the internal cleanup. 15 16 18

Following Bai Tianyu's destruction of Lei Hall, Su Chen publicly stepped down and transferred the Tower Master position to Bai Tianyu. The Tower absorbed Lei Hall and the Lei Family's wealth and businesses, while Su Chen retained covert control over its profits and direction. 43 45 49

Succession Crisis

Following Su Mengbai's death, Ling Tianhe installed Su Chen as Tower Master while expecting hostile forces—or Ling Tianhe himself—to remove him. Rumors that Su Mengbai possessed a Fifth-grade Lotus Platform further drew outside attention to the Tower. 1 6

Internal Purge

After taking control of Ling Tianhe, Su Chen ordered him to identify and eliminate stewards with divided loyalties. The purge targeted members connected to Qingcheng's other major powers, including Lin Zhi, who had secretly cooperated with the Wang Family and Canteen Hall. 15 16 17

Defense Against Mo Beiming

When the Lei Family hired the Mid-stage Spirit Refining cultivator Mo Beiming to target Ling Tianhe, Bai Tianyu emerged from the Tower and killed him with a single saber strike. The event revealed that the Tower possessed an overwhelmingly powerful hidden protector. 23 24 25

Destruction of Lei Hall

Su Chen ordered Ling Tianhe and Bai Tianyu to destroy Lei Hall and the Lei Family, publicly framing the action as Bai Tianyu's payment for receiving the Tower. Bai Tianyu split Lei Hall apart with one blade strike, killing Lei Mu and others with his blade qi. 43 44 45

The destruction of Lei Hall caused Gathering of Sages Hall and Canteen Hall to strengthen their defenses, while Lei Hall's assets were transferred into the Golden Wind Fine Rain Tower. 45
