Background / History

Ye Ping was originally an ordinary office worker on Earth before an accident transmigrated him to the Immortal Martial Arts Era of the Jin Kingdom. He spent three years pursuing scholarship, taking advantage of the Jin Kingdom’s compulsory education and becoming known for his literary ability and adapted verses. Seeing a cultivator ride a flying sword changed his ambitions; he abandoned the scholarly path to seek immortality instead 2.

His cultivation prospects initially appeared hopeless. More than fifty Ascension Conventions and numerous sect examinations identified him as having No Spiritual Roots, leading Qingzhou’s major sects to blacklist him. Ye Ping nevertheless treated his poor starting point as the beginning of a future rise and continued seeking admission 2.

Grand Hua Daoist, the eighteenth Sect Leader of Qingyun Dao Sect, ultimately accepted him as a nominal disciple on the condition that Ye Ping receive no salary during a probationary period.
