Xu Luochen believed that he was one of the children orphaned by the Qingzhou Calamity and raised by Grand Hua Daoist alongside the other Qingyun Dao Sect disciples. He rarely discussed his parents, though Ye Ping's reassurance that they might still be alive visibly affected him 219.

The Demon Lord later identifies Xu Luochen as his lost son. According to the Demon Lord, Xu Luochen died in the womb after his mother was killed, but was revived through a God Spirit Egg nourished with Five Spirits Sacred Blood.
