Background / History

Over twenty years before the main story, Grand Hua Daoist used the Supreme Heavenly Secrets Calculation to foresee a plot against the newborn Tenth Prince of Great Xia, Su Changyu. His own senior brother intended to sacrifice the infant to awaken a Demon God, so Grand Hua abducted the prince from the imperial palace and concealed his Destiny. 261 278

Grand Hua fought his senior brother in Qingzhou, where both were actually Mahayana-realm cultivators. After severely wounding him, Grand Hua altered the memories of Qingzhou’s cultivators so that the catastrophe would be remembered as a battle between Nascent Spirit cultivators over a treasure. 262

To evade pursuit, he used the Mortal Transformation Ancient Talisman to seal his cultivation, erase his memories, and sever his aura. He subsequently lived as an ordinary cultivator, founded Qingyun Dao Sect, and raised Su Changyu as his disciple while telling him that his parents had died in the Qingzhou Calamity. 213 262

The Seven Kings’ Legacy later disturbed the talisman through the Heavenly Secrets Bagua Diagram, restoring part of Grand Hua’s memories. When agents of Great Xia came seeking information about Ye Ping and tortured Da Xu, Grand Hua removed his spiritual talisman and revealed his Mahayana cultivation. 196 260 261
