Background and History

The Chaos Demon Gods were born during the early formation of the Primordial Plane, when Heaven and Earth remained in a state of chaos and disorder. Each was a manifestation of a Great Dao, possessing authority over that Dao from birth. Their existence represented the order of the Chaos Era rather than the order created by Pangu’s later world-opening. 41 150

Pangu’s destiny to open the heavens threatened the Chaos Demon Gods’ path to enlightenment. The main combat faction, led by figures such as the Destruction Demon God and Yang Demon God, sought to suppress or eliminate Pangu. The conservative faction, led by Shi Chen and Yang Mei, preferred to delay him and avoid a battle that could destroy their special Daos. 78

Pangu ultimately defeated the Chaos Demon Gods and refined their Dao Fruits into the Great Desolation, strengthening the new world’s origin. The conservative faction’s survivors, however, remained active and later became the principal hidden force manipulating events in the Great Desolation. 78 137

Their schemes were first exposed when Di Jun deduced that the Three Immortal Islands were formed from Chaos Fragments. Since beings born after the world’s creation could not have known that secret naturally, the revelation pointed to a Chaos Demon God deliberately spreading information. 41

The Chaos Demon Gods supported East King Duke and used him as a pawn against the Heavenly Court. They later backed the Witch Clan, Qing Hua, and other pieces in attempts to control the Great Desolation’s Earth Dao and Human Dao. Their plan for the Human Dao failed when Qing Hua revealed his allegiance to Di Jun and transferred the human-creation task to Nuwa. 65 94 119 128

Di Jun repeatedly countered their schemes. His Heavenly Court defeated or disrupted their projections, eliminated the Karma Demon God, and exposed the faction’s dependence on hidden pieces and proxies. He later travelled against the flow of time, suppressing the Destiny Demon God and Karma Demon God in the past before they had fully connected with the Great Desolation. 129 131 134

The Chaos Demon Gods initially planned to remain in the Great Desolation, but Di Jun’s control over time, space, fate, and the Great Desolation’s origin forced them to reconsider. They concluded that they were the weakest of the major factions and decided to retrieve their origins and flee rather than continue competing for dominion. 147

They subsequently formed a temporary alliance with the sentient Heavenly Dao. The alliance was intended to destroy the Great Desolation, break Mount Buzhou, and free the Chaos Demon Gods’ origins. The Demon Gods ultimately betrayed the Heavenly Dao, attacking Mount Buzhou directly to seize Pangu’s origin and escape the Great Desolation. 169 171 174

Mount Buzhou’s destruction released the Chaos Demon God Origins, but Di Jun collected Pangu’s origin and opened a spatial rift through which the remaining origins fled. The Chaos Demon Gods followed them into the rift, seeking to escape the Great Desolation’s influence. 202

By Chapter 214, the Chaos Demon Gods had gathered before Di Jun to negotiate. Di Jun stated that their origins existed only in the current space-time and that he had already placed them beyond their ability to recover freely. He dismissed them as the spoils of the victor, leaving the faction with no clear means of resistance. 214

Despite their confidence, the faction became increasingly cautious around Di Jun. His ability to alter the past and threaten their earlier selves created fear and disagreement among them, eventually forcing them to abandon their ambition to dominate the Great Desolation. 134 147
