Background

Taiyi is Di Jun’s younger twin brother. Before the Human Dao Heavenly Court was founded, he gathered powerful individuals and urged Di Jun to establish a force before East King Duke’s Zifu became too entrenched. During the founding ceremony, Taiyi summoned the Chaos Bell to suppress the Heavenly Court’s Destiny. 1 2

After Di Jun entered seclusion following the transformation of the Thirty-three Heavens into the Nine Heavens, Taiyi was entrusted with constructing the Heavenly Court and organizing its departments. 3

Di Jun later tailored the Mythological Law for Taiyi. Taiyi accepted his elder brother’s instruction without reservation, condensed the Yao Emperor’s divine station, and became one of the foremost recipients of the Mythological system. 7 8

While consolidating his Mythological Dao Fruit, Taiyi began sensing an ancient imprint within himself. He ultimately recovered the memories of his prior existence: the Great Sun Demon God, a Chaos Demon God nurtured by the Great Dao of Yang whose origin shattered during Pangu’s Creation. Rather than allow his former self to overwrite him, Taiyi refined its incomplete True Spirit and affirmed that he was Taiyi, Di Jun’s brother, rather than merely the Great Sun Demon God reborn. 70 76 77

Appearance

Taiyi first appears as a young man. As his authority grows, he is associated with imperial robes formed from Heavenly Court Destiny, a Myth Imprint on his brow, and increasingly transcendent manifestations of heavenly might. 1 93 157

  • His past self, the Great Sun Demon God, is identical to him in appearance and True Spirit aura. 76
  • The Great Sun Demon God’s presence evokes billions of rising and falling suns and flames capable of incinerating all heavens. 76
  • As Taiyi nears control of the Heavenly Dao, his pupils become snow-white and filled with shifting runes. 168
  • His Heavenly Dao manifestation is described as noble, majestic, and inseparable from the origin of the Great Desolation plane. 176 178

Personality

Taiyi is intensely loyal to Di Jun. He repeatedly treats Di Jun’s decisions as self-evidently correct, accepts his plans without hesitation, and considers helping his elder brother to be his own value and duty. 1 7 110

He is also direct and forceful. In battle, he speaks bluntly of being underestimated and uses overwhelming power without hesitation when Di Jun orders him to act. 26 27 Beneath his loyalty, Taiyi has a playful side: during the staged conflict surrounding his supposed betrayal, he admits that he fought seriously because it was a rare chance to beat his fellow officials. 119

His struggle with the Great Sun Demon God establishes a strong sense of self. Although he accepts his past-life memories and inheritance, he refuses to let that identity replace the life and bonds he formed as Taiyi. 76 77

Abilities & Skills

Mythological Law and Yao Emperor Status

Di Jun created a Mythological Law specifically for Taiyi, allowing him to establish the Yao Emperor’s divine station and wield mythological authority. 7 8

  • Draws on the worship and willpower of living beings. 26
  • Grants a mythological quality that greatly magnifies his combat power beyond his base cultivation. 26
  • Develops from the Mythical Yao Emperor status into the foundation of his Mythological Heavenly Dao. 164 178

Chaos Bell

Taiyi wields the Chaos Bell, using it both as a dynastic treasure and a decisive weapon. 2 26

  • Its sound can dim spiritual treasures, dissolve incoming attacks, and damage opponents’ Dao Fruits. 26
  • When used against Pan Wang, its vibration severs Pan Wang’s Three Flowers and reduces his cultivation from Quasi-Saint to Great Luo Golden Immortal. 26

Great Sun Demon God Inheritance

Taiyi inherits the memories, Dao heart, and information of the Great Sun Demon God after refining its incomplete True Spirit. 77

  • His former self was born wielding the Great Dao of Yang. 76
  • The inheritance clarifies Taiyi’s Dao and removes an obstacle from his future cultivation. 77
  • His identity as a returned Chaos Demon God becomes a key element in gaining the Chaos Demon Gods’ trust during Di Jun’s scheme. 110 120

Mythological Dharma Form and Origin Reflection

Taiyi’s Dharma Form can project his mythological nature across worlds and timelines. 113 157

  • In the Canglan Universe, the projection of his Eastern Emperor Dharma Form causes beings to prostrate themselves and draws wish power from the demon race. 113
  • Can split into billions of clones, each carrying a portion of the demon race’s Daos. 113
  • Projects avatars through the River of Time and gathers them back into himself to consolidate his origin. 159 188

Mythological Heavenly Dao

Taiyi transforms the Yao Emperor’s authority into the authority of Heavenly Dao, becoming the embodied ruler of the Great Desolation’s order. 178

  • Controls the order, operation, and changes of the Great Desolation. 178
  • Abolishes the Three Disasters and Nine Calamities, Five Decays of Heaven and Man, and Ten Tribulations’ End. 178
