Background / History

An Le began as an eighteen-year-old painter from Anfu County, Chongzhou, who had only recently awakened to cultivation and was considered to have poor innate talent. His distinctive painting style brought him to the attention of Lin Manor, where he was hired to paint portraits of its young masters before their departure for war. Madam Hua recognized both his painting ability and unusual potential, giving him the Five Animals Body Tempering Technique and the Sword Waterfall Diagram. 4 9 10

At Lin Manor, An Le discovered that he could draw Time Qi from other people without their awareness. This ability became the foundation of his growth: Time Qi could improve cultivation arts and skills, while rare Flowing Gold Time Qi could condense into Time Dao Fruits. He used these opportunities to rapidly compensate for his late start in cultivation. 5 20

He became Lin Qingyin’s formal painting master at Old Madam Yu’s request and viewed the Lin family’s early support as a debt that had to be repaid. This principle later guided his refusal to abandon Lin Manor for the Qin family, even when Qin Qianqiu offered him resources and instructors. 52 76

He is calm under pressure and unwilling to preserve safety at the cost of his principles. When his Heart Sword faced cracking under hostile spiritual pressure, he rejected compromise, believing that fear and hesitation would erode both his will and his Invincible Momentum. 228
