Dumbledore was lying.
The killer could not possibly have been the Death Eater named Wilkes, whom Professor Foxx had killed!
He had hidden in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts to evade Professor Foxx's revenge. Especially now that Foxx had become a Hogwarts professor, would he really do something as harmful and pointless as attacking two students?
To clear Professor Foxx's name, Dumbledore had concealed his motive for revenge while emphasizing that he had captured a dark wizard, planting the suggestion in the young wizards' minds that Foxx had fought so desperately to protect them.
Lynn could understand why Dumbledore would do that. Based on Professor Foxx's account, the relationship between the two of them truly was far from ordinary.
But why did he claim that Wilkes was the killer?
If Hogwarts truly lowered its guard now and someone was attacked again afterward, how would Dumbledore explain it?
Lynn did not think Dumbledore would do something that left himself no way out.
Unless he had already caught the real culprit.
Or he knew who the real culprit was, and even if he had not caught them, he was certain they would not attack again.
Combined with Lynn's earlier suspicions, an exceptionally uneasy feeling suddenly rose in his heart.
Hubert had clashed with him and was attacked by Dark magic on the very day he planned to take revenge on him.
Raphael had also clashed with him and was attacked on the very day he was discharged from the school hospital.
The victims of both attacks had been people hostile to Lynn, and both had been preparing to retaliate against him.
And Dumbledore had not been in the castle during either attack.
Together with Dumbledore's current reaction, it sent a chill down Lynn's spine.
Just then, the system suddenly appeared as well.
