As Donghua and Taizhen accepted the spiritual treasures with bows, Hongjun Daozu's expression was neither joyful nor sorrowful. His indifferent voice echoed like the Heavenly Dao's decree through every corner of Zixiao Palace, penetrating the very souls of the gods:
"Maintain the peace of the Great Desolation, and rectify its chaotic order. Do not disappoint me, the two of you."
Donghua and Taizhen exchanged glances, instantly understanding each other's intentions. They immediately responded in unison: "Your juniors obey the Dao Ancestor's decree!"
The gazes of the powerful cultivators in the hall converged upon the two. Some were filled with envious heat, others were cold as ice, and some lowered their heads, their minds churning with a thousand thoughts and hidden calculations.
The opportunity bestowed by a Saint was as weighty as a mountain. This supreme position of the Immortal Head and the innate spiritual treasures were both supreme authority and vast karma.
Thus, the supreme positions of the heads of male and female immortals were now firmly established.
"The next sermon will discuss the Way of the Saint, scheduled for one Yuanhui later."
As soon as Hongjun Daozu finished speaking, just like last time, everyone felt their vision blur and shift abruptly. Time and space inverted. When they stabilized their minds, they found themselves in the midst of boundless chaos.
Before the surrounding cultivators could approach and converse, the Twelve-Petaled Pure World White Lotus beneath Donghua's feet leisurely appeared. Its sacred lotus light shone brilliantly, purifying the turbid air around them.
The two figures then transformed into streams of light, streaking through the chaos and drifting away. All that remained were the powerful beings with their varied thoughts, watching their departing figures in silence.
Only after they were far beyond the perception of the others did Donghua slow his escape light. As a spiritual light emerged, Donghua released his good corpse, Chunyang Daoist.
"Thank you for making this trip, Fellow Daoist," Donghua said, handing the Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler to Chunyang Daoist.
"We are one, why be so polite?" Chunyang Daoist replied with a smile, bowing his head. He took the Hongmeng Measuring Heaven Ruler, and his figure then faded, following the plan to track down Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi.
Seeing this, Taizhen did not ask what Donghua was having his good corpse do. Instead, a smile played on her lips as she said in a clear voice:
"Today should be a double celebration. First, the two of us were appointed Immortal Heads, and now you, Donghua, have been the first to sever the three corpses and step into the Quasi-Saint realm. Truly, this is cause for great joy."
Taizhen paused for a moment, then asked, "But what exactly is the difference between the Quasi-Saint realm and the Grand Unity realm?"
Donghua looked at Taizhen and replied slowly:
"It is like the difference between clouds and mud. Only now do I understand what it means to break free from the cage. If I encounter a Grand Unity cultivator wielding an innate supreme treasure or having formed a profound and mysterious formation, I might need some effort. Otherwise, they can be suppressed with a mere flip of my hand."
Donghua pondered for a moment, then added, "However, the Great Dao is infinite. This breakthrough has not yet shown significant progress in my comprehension of laws."
Taizhen nodded upon hearing this, understanding his meaning. The two said no more, transforming into two streams of clear light and heading directly towards West Kunlun.
In the chaos, Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun were traveling by cloud, intending to return to Longevity Mountain.
Suddenly, Hongyun Daoist, who was beside him, stopped abruptly. He let out a soft "Oh?" and felt a strange tremor in his Primordial Spirit. An indescribable sense of being pulled came from the direction of Buzhou Mountain, as if a treasure crucial to his life was calling to him, causing his blood to surge.
"Brother Dao!" Hongyun quickly called out to Zhenyuanzi, his face filled with surprise and a hint of joy. "This humble one suddenly feels that something in the direction of Buzhou Mountain is fated to be with me. Under this spiritual pull, I find myself unable to resist."
Hearing this, Zhenyuanzi calculated with his fingers, but the heavenly secrets were shrouded in chaos.
However, Zhenyuanzi knew that Hongyun was the first crimson cloud to attain the Dao in the world, possessing profound fortune. His feelings must not be without reason. Zhenyuanzi pondered for a moment, then said:
"Since it is a fated connection, we must investigate. I will accompany you." Zhenyuanzi knew Hongyun's honest nature and his susceptibility to schemes, so he decided to accompany him for protection.
"Thank you, Brother Dao," Hongyun said with a grateful smile. He immediately followed the unseen guidance and, with Zhenyuanzi, changed direction, transforming into two long rainbows that shot straight towards Buzhou Mountain.
At the very moment Hongyun felt this connection, far behind them, Chunyang Daoist, who had used the Sun's Traceless technique to conceal himself, had a flash of understanding in his clear Daoist eyes.
"Everything is indeed as my main body predicted!"
Chunyang Daoist understood. His figure completely merged into the flowing sunlight, like a shadow, following closely behind Zhenyuanzi and Hongyun.
Before long, deep within Buzhou Mountain, a valley shielded by an innate formation finally welcomed its last fated visitor.
As Hongyun stepped into the valley, the natural protective formation trembled slightly. Then, like morning mist meeting the sun, it quietly dissipated, revealing the immeasurable creation hidden within the valley.
As soon as the formation dispersed, the true appearance of the valley was revealed!
Instantly, auspicious light erupted like a sea, ten thousand rays of auspicious colors soared into the sky, and an ethereal fragrance permeated the surroundings. It even caused the spiritual energy of the ten directions to converge like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea, forming a majestic vortex of spiritual energy at the valley entrance.
On the cliff at the bottom of the valley, a vine, entirely green and appearing as if carved from divine jade, was clearly visible.
Its vine coiled like a celestial dragon, its leaves flowed with the blue light of creation, and every wisp of its aura contained the innate Dao rhythm from the beginning of heaven and earth. It was none other than the Innate Gourd Vine, one of the Ten Great Innate Spiritual Roots!
On the vine, seven precious gourds shone brilliantly, each with a different color and interwoven with Dao rhythm, all nearing completion.
Only the seventh gourd at the end had a slightly dim luster and a weak aura, as if its origin was insufficient to achieve its full potential.
Chunyang Daoist, through his main body, already understood that among these seven gourds, except for the unripe seventh one, the other six treasures each had their destined masters. They would bloom with entirely different brilliant lights in the future grand situation of the Great Desolation.
The Grand Pure One Laozi took one, refining it into the Purple Gold Gourd, which concealed the wonders of heaven and earth. It could nourish spiritual pills, and when facing an enemy, upon revealing a talisman, its profound light would envelop and absorb the opponent, turning them into pus within three quarters of an hour.
Eastern Emperor Taiyi took one, refining it into the ferociously powerful Immortal Slaying Gourd. It contained a flying knife formed from innate killing qi. With just a single command, "Please, treasure, turn," it could slay immortals and gods, its sharpness awe-inspiring.
The one obtained by the Supreme Pure One Tongtian was refined into the Water-Fire Gourd. When opened, two water and fire Qilins would leap out, roaring with wind and clouds, their ferocity formidable.
The one in the Jade Pure One Primordial Lord's hand, after being enlightened, became the Heaven and Earth Gourd. It contained an unformed chaos, capable of evolving wind, water, fire, and earth, and could also nourish all treasures, enhancing their origins.
The one held by Nuwa was refined into the Monster-Recruiting Gourd. Once shaken, all the Yao of the Great Desolation would sense it and dare not disobey, making it a crucial tool for ruling the Yao Race.
The one obtained by Hongyun eventually became the Ninety-Nine Soul Scattering Gourd. It contained the Netherworld Soul Scattering Sand. When facing an enemy, its mouth would pour out, the red sand obscuring the sky. Immortals and gods who touched it would have their Primordial Spirits scattered, making it exceptionally vicious.
As for the seventh gourd, due to severe damage to its origin, it never fully matured. Its spiritual light was dim, hidden deep within the vine, its fate unknown.
Besides the seven gourds, this gourd vine was also an unparalleled rare treasure.
In addition to the seven innate precious gourds, this gourd vine itself was also a rare treasure in the Great Desolation, containing immeasurable creation.
Later, when Nuwa molded earth to create humans, she used this vine as a foundation. Because the vine aided the Saint in achieving the merit of creation, it transformed into a merit spiritual treasure, named the "Creation Whip."
