Hidan's teasing did not bother the others.

There might have been some debate over which Akatsuki team was most likely to get killed, but there was no question that the least likely to die was the team made up of the demon Moryo and Shinnō, who was well-versed in Medical Ninjutsu.

As a demon, Moryo was immortal.

So the worst that could happen to him was being sealed away.

And Shinnō, who had mastered Dark Medical Ninjutsu and the Eight Gates, and created the artificial Tailed Beast Zero-Tails, was no longer the spy who had once used his cover as a wandering doctor to gather intelligence on the various ninja villages.

The others might not have known, but Kakuzu, Hidan, Itachi, and Juzo Biwa—members of the Akatsuki Organization—knew all too well that Moryo and Shinnō's team was actually stronger than their own two teams.

The rain had eased, but it was still falling steadily.

"Our situation has reached the leader," Kakuzu said. "He told us to hold our position!"

"Is the leader going to make a move?" Juzo Biwa asked.

Itachi turned his gaze to Kakuzu, waiting for his answer.

Kakuzu shook his head. "I don't know the details either. I heard the organization still has a few cards left to play."

"I've heard that too," Juzo Biwa said. "Recently, a large number of White Zetsu Clones have appeared on the battlefield. There are tens of thousands of them, and they're tying down the Ninja Village Allied Forces on several fronts. According to my informant in the Allied Forces' headquarters, they've been sending out reinforcements for several days straight."

"The headquarters is getting weaker," Itachi stated.

Hidan, carrying his Bloody Reaper and looking completely carefree, laughed. "Maybe the leader's waiting for an opportunity, just like us?"

Kakuzu glared at him.
