Sasuke had always been filled with hostility and resentment toward Itachi, and the last of his reason vanished under Itachi's attack.
In an instant, a purple shadow projected from his body, rapidly taking the form of a skeletal Susanoo. It threw a punch at the "Itachi Uchiha" before him.
Boom.
With a deafening crash, the two Susanoo collided, and even the ground trembled slightly.
"How could this happen?"
Kakashi's expression turned grim.
Itachi's sudden attack had completely caught him by surprise, but he didn't immediately join the fight. Instead, he surveyed the surroundings.
He thought members of the Akatsuki Organization might be watching nearby, and that Itachi might be acting against his will.
Yakumo asked, "Kakashi, what should we do?"
"Is anyone else nearby?" Kakashi asked.
Yakumo shook her head.
She had already used her Red Dragon Eye to confirm that no one else was nearby besides the members of their own squad.
"No one?"
Kakashi froze. Once again, things had gone against his expectations.

At the sound of the fighting, Might Guy, Jirō, Ryūsetsuna, Chiyo, Gaara, Darui, and Kurotsuchi, who had been scattered around the area on guard, all rushed over.
"What's going on?"
"Is that... Itachi Uchiha?"
"Sasuke's older brother?"
Everyone froze at the sight of the two Susanoo battling.
In that brief moment, both Susanoo, which had been skeletal just before, had transformed into armored giants with upper bodies.
Sasuke roared, "Itachi, if you won't answer me, I'll beat it out of you!"
With that, he immediately made his Susanoo draw its bow and fire an arrow at Itachi's red Susanoo with all its might.
"Itachi Uchiha" remained silent, his expression utterly indifferent, as if the person before him weren't his own younger brother but some stranger.
