War Intent!

Haku and Karin took a walk by the river.

After confirming that no one was around, Haku said worriedly, "Whenever I've been challenged these past few days, I've felt like someone was watching me from a distance."

Karin said, "I noticed it too. Someone really has been spying on us from the shadows. Judging by the amount of Chakra, it's very likely Konoha's ANBU."

Haku was somewhat helpless. "Looks like Konoha has grown suspicious of us!"

Karin asked, "Is it still about the assessment?"

"Yeah. We were a little too conspicuous this time." Haku nodded. "The teachers aren't fools. They might not have had time to think it through back then, but how could they not become suspicious after returning?"

Karin's expression darkened. "Should we report this to the adults?"

After pondering for a moment, Haku said, "Let's wait and see for now. Konoha probably only suspects that the two of us have been hiding our strength. If we lose our heads now, we'll only expose more!"

Karin thought of Shinji again. "Do you think Konoha will make things difficult for Shinji?"

"They probably won't!" Haku was startled at first, then continued, "They're most likely just suspicious that Shinji is hiding something too. But speaking of that, Shinji's performance during the assessment was simply perfect. As expected of an Uchiha!"

Recalling the battle against the Root ninja, Karin couldn't help sighing with emotion. "Yeah, I never expected Shinji to be so powerful!"

Just then, Rock Lee came running toward them along the path beside the river.

Haku and Karin greeted him from a distance.

Rock Lee ran around the village every day to train, and everyone at the Ninja Academy knew it. So neither of them was surprised to encounter him.
