Arc 59The Six Rings War

Shinji ascended to Kekkei Sōra, gave a second Chakra Fruit to Hikari, and led the fight against the Plague Overlord in the Six Rings World. He sealed parts of both Overlords in moons and left the survivors preparing for their possible return.

  • Shinji ate the larger Chakra Fruit, attained Kekkei Sōra, and realized his divine arts were limited by his knowledge.
  • Shinji offered the remaining Chakra Fruit to the strongest candidate, and Hikari defeated Sasuke before Karin withdrew and endorsed her.
  • Hikari ate the Chakra Fruit and reached Kekkei Mōra, then joined Shinji on the mission to the Six Rings World.
  • Shinji released the Breeding Overlord’s remains to provoke the Plague Overlord, whose mist overwhelmed the Lantern Bearers and killed Ghost, Gladiator, Whitebeard, and Night Hawk.
  • Shinji fought the possessed Lantern Bearers and other infected beings while the Lantern Bearers, Arcane, and the Archmages struggled to keep the collapsing world intact.
  • The Breeding Overlord returned and fought the Plague Overlord, while Shinji sealed the Flame Demon and later imprisoned the Black Giant Serpent in a second moon.
  • Shinji sealed fragments of both Overlords in moons, and Alice, Shion, and the surviving Lantern Bearers prepared warnings and defenses against their return.
  • Alice proposed using the hostage plan to deter both Overlords, while Shinji told Arcane to train a sixth Archmage and vowed to protect the fallen Lantern Bearers’ worlds.
Chapters 1473–1497 Vol. 15 Read

Ch. 1473Omniscience Is Omnipotence!

After sacrificing Urashiki, Shinji ate the larger of two Chakra Fruits and evolved into Kekkei Sōra. He discovered that his new power let him transform matter by understanding it, and concluded that gaining more knowledge was the path toward omnipotence.

  • Shinji decided to save the smaller Chakra Fruit for a Six Paths-level subordinate and swallowed the larger one.
  • After meditating for a day, Shinji’s Chakra transformed and he entered the realm of Kekkei Sōra.
  • Shinji tested his new abilities in a desert, turning sand into a rabbit, creating grassland, and making rain fall without sustaining it with Chakra.
  • Shinji realized he could transform matter into anything he understood and that his knowledge was the only limit on his divine arts.
  • Shinji recognized that the Overlords sought the information contained in worlds and concluded that he needed to gather knowledge to approach omniscience and omnipotence.

Ch. 1474Gathering

Shinji gathered his subordinates in the alternate space where Karin had fought Ōtsutsuki Isshiki and revealed a Chakra Fruit that could raise someone beyond Six Paths level. He left the group eager to learn who would receive it, announcing that the strongest among them would be chosen.

  • Yakumo, Haku, Sasuke, Naruto, Karin, Hikari, Neji, Kimimaro, Ryūzetsu, and Chiyo gathered in the grassland-filled alternate space where Karin had fought Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.
  • Menma grew uneasy as he recognized that Karin and Hikari had reached Six Paths level and sensed hidden power in Neji and Kimimaro.
  • Shinji arrived with Ōtsutsuki Toneri and showed the group a Chakra Fruit that could help its eater reach Kekkei Mōra.
  • Karin and Uchiha Hikari urged Shinji to keep the fruit, but Shinji said he had already eaten one and would give this fruit to one of them.
  • Sasuke asked how Shinji would choose, and Shinji announced that the strongest person present would receive the Chakra Fruit.

Ch. 1475The Contest for the Chakra Fruit!

Shinji organized an open contest for the Chakra Fruit, and the remaining candidates drew lots for three matches. As Karin and Naruto, Hikari and Neji, and Sasuke and Kimimaro began fighting, the alternate dimension was engulfed in the force of their clashes.

  • Yakumo, Ryūsetsuna, Chiyo, Haku, and Otsutsuki Toneri withdrew, leaving six candidates to compete for the Chakra Fruit.
  • Karin drew Naruto, Hikari drew Neji, and Sasuke drew Kimimaro, then the pairs headed to separate arenas.
  • Sasuke challenged Kimimaro over their rivalry from the Ninja Academy, and Kimimaro activated his Karma.
  • Neji activated his Karma, prompting Otsutsuki Momoshiki to urge him not to waste his chance at the Chakra Fruit, but Neji said he was competing to test his training.
  • Karin urged Naruto to fight seriously, and Naruto agreed as the three matches began and their clashes swept through the alternate dimension.

Ch. 1476Victory and Defeat

Sasuke defeated Kimimaro, while Hikari forced Neji to concede after Momoshiki ended his Karma release. Karin endured the combined attacks of Naruto and Menma with her Complete Body Susanoo and then trapped Naruto with luminous chains, leaving their match unresolved.

  • Sasuke defeated Kimimaro, who accepted the loss, and Sasuke challenged him to fight again after reaching Six Paths level.
  • Hikari overwhelmed Neji, prompting Momoshiki to end the Karma release; Neji conceded without regret.
  • Naruto and Menma launched their finishing attacks together, severely damaging Karin's Complete Body Susanoo.
  • Karin emerged unharmed and bound Naruto with luminous chains, leaving the outcome of their fight uncertain.

Ch. 1477Consecutive Battles

Karin defeated Naruto with the Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Uchiha Hikari volunteered to fight two matches in a row because she could replenish her Chakra. Sasuke began his battle with Hikari, while Karin revealed that Hikari had surpassed her and was second only to Lord Shinji in the organization.

  • Karin restrained Naruto with the Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Naruto admitted defeat after the Nine-Tails said its power was countered.
  • Sasuke, Karin, and Hikari remained after Neji, Kimimaro, and Naruto were eliminated from the first round.
  • Uchiha Hikari volunteered to fight two matches in a row, and Sasuke stepped forward to face her first.
  • Sasuke and Hikari began a fast-paced battle focused on technique and perception.
  • Karin told Naruto that Hikari had surpassed her and that only Lord Shinji could likely beat Hikari.

Ch. 1478Six Paths Level Combat

Uchiha Hikari adapted to Sasuke Uchiha’s taijutsu and gained the upper hand, even after he summoned his complete-body Susanoo. Shinji explained to the others that Six Paths fighters needed strong taijutsu and a broad range of fundamental abilities, not just ninjutsu or genjutsu.

  • Hikari used feints and other combat insights to read Sasuke’s movements and gradually overwhelm him in taijutsu.
  • Sasuke summoned his complete-body Susanoo, but Hikari blocked its arrow with a Truth-Seeking Orb and pierced through its armor to fight him inside.
  • Hikari continued suppressing Sasuke inside the Susanoo, while Shinji told Yakumo that the likely winner was obvious.
  • Shinji explained to Naruto, Karin, Neji, and Kimimaro that taijutsu was a primary Six Paths combat method because ninjutsu and genjutsu often became less effective.
  • Shinji advised Neji and the others to develop a range of fundamental abilities, including sealing techniques, space-time abilities, barriers, curses, and other unusual skills.

Ch. 1479The Best Candidate

After Sasuke lost to Hikari, Shinji’s simulations confirmed she was far stronger, and Karin withdrew from competing for the Chakra Fruit. The group chose Hikari to ascend to Kekkei Mōra, and she began absorbing the fruit.

  • Shinji explained that Six Paths-level battles relied on overwhelming power, special abilities, or Sealing Technique, and agreed that divine arts were effective against such fighters.
  • Hikari defeated Sasuke, and Shinji’s seven thousand simulations showed Sasuke never won against her.
  • Karin withdrew from the contest and said Hikari was the best choice to ascend to Kekkei Mōra because Yachihoko could improve everyone’s chakra.
  • Shinji gave Hikari the Chakra Fruit, and she ate it with her friends’ encouragement.
  • Shinji told everyone to leave Hikari undisturbed while she absorbed the fruit, which would take at least a day.

Ch. 1480Traveling Together

Shinji returned to the Shinobi World, warned his allies to monitor the Research Institute and avoid confronting Orochimaru, then watched over Hikari as she absorbed the Chakra Fruit. After Hikari advanced to Kekkei Mōra, Shinji invited her to join his dangerous mission to the Six Rings World.

  • Shinji ordered the group returning from the Space Gate to keep the Chakra Fruit secret, then told Sasuke, Naruto, Yakumo, and Haku to watch the Research Institute.
  • Shinji revealed that Fuma Ichiro had betrayed the Institute and that Orochimaru was secretly researching divine arts, but forbade Sasuke and Naruto from confronting him.
  • Shinji told the four to cooperate with Amado, keep Orochimaru calm, and protect Ada and Daemon while he handled the Six Rings World mission.
  • Shinji guarded Hikari as she absorbed the Chakra Fruit, and two days later confirmed that she had advanced to Kekkei Mōra and strengthened her Yachihoko.
  • Shinji invited Hikari to help fight the Plague and possibly Breeding Overlords in the Six Rings World, and she agreed to follow his instructions.

Ch. 1481Declare War!

Shinji brought Hikari to the Six Rings World, where they saw the devastation caused by the Plague Overlord and met Shion after she became an Archmage. With the world’s magical barriers close to collapse, Shinji assembled the Lantern Bearers and declared war on the Overlord.

  • Shinji and Hikari flew to Shion’s mage tower and saw how the Plague Overlord’s corruption had spread across the Six Rings World.
  • At the tower, Shion revealed that she had condensed a Magic Ring with thirteen magic arrays and reached the Six Paths level, while Shinji explained that Hikari had ascended to the Kekkei Mōra realm.
  • Shion told Shinji that the magical barrier was riddled with holes and could collapse within a few months despite her repairs.
  • Shinji told Hikari to protect Shion and warned Shion that the Overlord might target the Archmages.
  • Shinji went to the Lantern Bearers’ temporary base, assembled them, and announced that their battle plan was underway and they were declaring war on the Overlord.

Ch. 1482Three-Way Contest

Shinji and the Lantern Bearers prepared to lure the Plague Overlord into the Six Rings World and fight it while preventing the world from collapsing. The coming war would pit Shinji’s faction against both the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord.

  • Alice the Radiant One presented a plan to provoke the Plague Overlord into invading early by releasing the Breeding Overlord’s remains, which had a 53.2% success rate.
  • Shinji assigned the Lantern Bearers to stabilize eight regions of the Six Rings World instead of defending the six Archmages’ towers, warning that the world could collapse within days once he fought the Overlord.
  • The Archmages assembled their mage corps to defend the six towers, while the eight Lantern Bearers went to their assigned zones and prepared equipment to slow the world’s collapse.
  • Shinji looked up at the weakening Chibaku Tensei sealing part of the Breeding Overlord and considered the coming three-way contest between the Plague Overlord, the Breeding Overlord, and his faction.

Ch. 1483Certain to Succeed!

Shinji began the war by releasing the Breeding Overlord's body into the Six Rings World, then attacked it to force the hidden Plague Overlord to reveal itself. The Plague Overlord finally acted as Shinji pinned the black serpent with Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.

  • Hikari told Shion she had used Yachihoko to record the Six Rings World's magical knowledge for Shinji.
  • Shinji received confirmation that the Six Rings World's defenses were ready and ordered Little Round to announce the start of the war.
  • Shinji shattered the Chibaku Tensei, sending the imprisoned part of the Breeding Overlord's body crashing to the ground.
  • The released body became a black serpent and rampaged through the mountains before fleeing when it spotted Shinji.
  • Shinji entered Godly Emperor Mode and pinned the serpent with Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.
  • A thunderclap signaled that the Plague Overlord had emerged after Shinji attacked the Breeding Overlord's body.

Ch. 1484Gray-White Mist

Shinji watched the Plague Overlord’s gray-white mist overwhelm the Archmages’ barrier, then realized it had split into eight streams to attack the Lantern Bearers. He warned them and sent seven Shadow Clones to pursue the streams, but all eight Lantern Bearers were struck, with Whitebeard and the "Night Hawk" unable to activate their Lanterns in time.

  • Shinji released the Breeding Overlord’s remains after gray-white mist poured through a rift in the sky, and the serpent fled.
  • The Plague Overlord’s mist shattered the magical barrier created by the six Archmages.
  • The mist split into eight streams, and Shinji created seven Shadow Clones to pursue them and warned the Lantern Bearers.
  • The Lantern Bearers tried to activate their Lanterns as the mist approached, but Whitebeard and the "Night Hawk" were too slow.
  • All eight Lantern Bearers were struck simultaneously by the Plague Overlord’s gray-white mist.

Ch. 1485The Ghostly White Light

The Plague Overlord overwhelmed the Lantern Bearers, killing four and turning them into ghostly-white-lamped puppets that attacked Shinji. As Shinji fought them across the Six Rings World, Light and Shion focused on restoring the barriers that could limit the Overlord's power.

  • The Plague Overlord's gray-white mist struck all eight Lantern Bearers, overwhelming four and infecting the Ghost, the Gladiator, Whitebeard, and Night Hawk.
  • Shinji's Shadow Clones destroyed the four unattached clouds of mist and checked on Alice, Hengo, the old martial artist, and Arcane.
  • The Ghost, the Gladiator, Whitebeard, and Night Hawk died, rose under the Plague Overlord's control, and attacked Shinji with ghostly white Lamps.
  • Shinji and his three Shadow Clones fought the controlled Lantern Bearers in four regions of the Six Rings World.
  • Light suspected someone had revealed the battle plan and concluded the mist was more powerful when attached to a host.
  • Light told Shion to have the Archmages rebuild the magic barriers and reinforce the spatial barrier instead of confronting the Overlord directly.

Ch. 1486The Collapsing Six Rings World

Shinji’s battle with the Plague Overlord pushed the Six Rings World to the brink of collapse, forcing the remaining Lantern Bearers and Archmages to reinforce its barriers while he fought to end the battle quickly. The chapter ended with Shinji and the Overlord charging into another clash as both sides faced mounting strain.

  • The Six Rings World’s alarms warned that it had only forty-nine hours before collapse, and Arcane confirmed that the world was failing.
  • Alice concluded that Shinji and the Plague Overlord’s immense power was destabilizing their battlefield, so she, Hengo, the old warrior, and Arcane began reinforcing critical nodes.
  • Hengo relocated four critical nodes, and the Lantern Bearers split up to reinstall equipment while offering Arcane Ashes to repair the spatial barriers.
  • Shion urged the six Archmages to reinforce the barriers, and they poured their magic and their mage towers’ power into them despite disasters killing inhabitants.
  • Shinji noticed that the possessed Lantern Bearers’ Lanterns were consuming Ashes and pressed his attack, while the Plague Overlord realized Shinji was far stronger than expected.

Ch. 1487Victory and Defeat

Shinji’s Shadow Clone fought the possessed Ghost while the Six Rings World began to collapse, but allies stabilized the world and Arcane repaired its spatial barrier. The clone exhausted Ghost’s Lantern and destroyed Ghost, though Shinji learned that two other Shadow Clones had lost their fights.

  • Shinji’s Shadow Clone struggled against Ghost, whose Lantern’s eerie light dispersed his attacks and Chakra.
  • Alice, Hengo, the old martial artist, and Arcane activated devices to stabilize the world, while Arcane used the Lantern and the six Archmages reinforced the spatial barrier.
  • Shinji poured his remaining Chakra into the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, exhausted the Embers in Ghost’s Lantern, and destroyed Ghost and the Plague Overlord’s mist.
  • The damaged Shadow Clone dispelled itself, and its memories and remaining Chakra returned to Shinji.
  • Shinji learned that only his fight against Gladiator and the Shadow Clone’s fight against Ghost had ended in victory; the other two Shadow Clones had lost.

Ch. 1488The Annihilation

Shinji analyzed the Plague Overlord’s Disease ability and used Imperial God Palace and Banshō Ten'in to halt and destroy the lifelessness spreading from Whitebeard’s lantern. He then cut down Whitebeard and the gray-white mist possessing him, while Night Hawk remained engaged with the Black Giant Serpent.

  • Shinji replenished his Chakra and concluded that the Plague Overlord’s Disease was a state that needed a host to manifest.
  • Whitebeard charged at Shinji while Night Hawk attacked the Black Giant Serpent.
  • Shinji froze Whitebeard and the ghostly white light with Imperial God Palace, then compressed and destroyed the contaminated area with Banshō Ten'in.
  • Shinji pierced Whitebeard’s lantern with Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and cut down Whitebeard and the gray-white mist possessing him.

Ch. 1489Devour It!

Shinji arrived as the Plague Overlord, possessing Nighthawk, tried to take over the weakened Black Giant Serpent. He shattered the Lamp and pinned Nighthawk down, then ordered the serpent to devour it.

  • Shion and Hikari watched Shinji defeat Whitebeard and realized how far his power had surpassed theirs, while the other Archmages and Lantern Bearers took heart.
  • Shinji sensed Nighthawk and used a Space Gate to reach the Plague Overlord’s pale-light domain, where it was overpowering the Black Giant Serpent.
  • The Plague Overlord ignored Shinji and focused on subduing the serpent, while Shinji recognized that its abilities countered the Breeding Overlord’s remains.
  • Shinji joined the fight and shattered the Lamp with the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, leaving Nighthawk weakened.
  • Shinji pinned Nighthawk to the ground with Black Rods and ordered the Black Giant Serpent to devour it.

Ch. 1490The Card Table

Shinji made the Black Giant Serpent swallow the Plague Overlord’s possessed Night Hawk, provoking a massive invasion of gray-white mist. He abandoned the serpent to protect the Lantern Bearers and Archmages, while Shion reported that the reinforced spatial barrier had made the Overlord pay heavily to break through.

  • Shinji wounded the Black Giant Serpent and directed it to swallow the Night Hawk possessed by the Plague Overlord.
  • The Black Giant Serpent absorbed the Night Hawk’s power, healed its wound, and grew larger, prompting the Plague Overlord to send far more gray-white mist into the Six Rings World.
  • Shinji left the Black Giant Serpent to face the mist and used Space Gates and Shadow Clones to reach the four Lantern Bearers and six Archmages.
  • Shinji warned Alice, the other Lantern Bearers, and the Archmages that clouds of mist were spreading throughout the world and could possess its living creatures.
  • Shion told Shinji that Arcane and the six Archmages had reinforced the spatial barrier, forcing the Plague Overlord to pay a heavy price for its invasion.

Ch. 1491A Familiar Presence

Shinji fought a massive wave of Plague Overlord-possessed beings across the Six Rings World, including the powerful Flame Demon, as the world began to collapse. When Shion begged him to act, Shinji asked her to wait, and a familiar presence appeared in the sky.

  • Shion and Hikari sensed the Plague Overlord panicking and feared its counterattack would threaten the Six Rings World.
  • Shinji guarded Arcane as possessed beings gathered, including the legendary Flame Demon, which Arcane said was stronger than any single Archmage.
  • Shinji and his Shadow Clones fought possessed beings across the world while the Plague Overlord pursued him and the fleeing Black Giant Serpent.
  • The fighting overwhelmed Arcane and the Archmages, and the Six Rings World began to collapse.
  • Shion urged Shinji to save the world, but he told her to wait before a familiar presence appeared in the sky.

Ch. 1492We'll Continue!

Shinji protected Arcane as the Plague Overlord’s possessed forces withdrew from the other battlefronts and converged on the Flame Demon. With the Flame Demon empowered by countless wisps of gray-white mist and Shinji nearly out of Chakra, he stood his ground and prepared to fight.

  • The Breeding Overlord returned, and it and the Plague Overlord began fighting beyond the Six Rings World’s spatial barrier.
  • The possessed beings retreated from the other battlefronts, but continued pursuing Arcane while Shinji defended him.
  • Arcane told Shinji that the Flame Demon could revive endlessly because its magical core was hidden somewhere secret.
  • The retreating wisps of gray-white mist abandoned their hosts and possessed the Flame Demon, greatly increasing its power.
  • Shinji sent Arcane away and, despite his dwindling Chakra, faced the empowered Flame Demon with the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.

Ch. 1493Furious and Flustered

Shinji trapped Plague Overlord’s power inside Six Rings World while Breeding Overlord fought its main body in the cosmos. He sealed the remaining grayish-white mist, but the Black Giant Serpent attacked the mage tower where Haku and Shion were located.

  • Shinji continued cutting down Flame Demon with the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, permanently destroying parts of its body.
  • Flame Demon tried to escape into the cosmos, so Shinji pursued it and asked Haku to seal the space.
  • Haku used Shion’s magical barrier to spread Heavenly Rock Door across Six Rings World, preventing Plague Overlord from escaping.
  • Shinji severed Flame Demon and sliced away a third of the exposed grayish-white mist before binding and sealing the rest with Chibaku Tensei.
  • The Black Giant Serpent pounced toward the mage tower after realizing Haku had imprisoned the spatial barrier.

Ch. 1494Shinji Had Faced a Monster Like This?

Hikari tried to stop the Black Giant Serpent from reaching Shion’s mage tower, but its strength overwhelmed her defenses. Shion blocked its first headbutt with her Magic Ring, leaving the tower cracked and close to destruction.

  • Shion sensed a powerful threat approaching the mage tower, and Hikari flew out to confront it.
  • Hikari recognized the Black Giant Serpent and attacked it with Susanoo, but its head broke her blade and its tail badly damaged Susanoo.
  • Hikari’s Amaterasu and Banshō Ten'in failed to stop the serpent, which dragged Susanoo toward the mage tower.
  • Shion stepped between the serpent and the tower and used her Magic Ring to block its headbutt.
  • The impact shook the mage tower and cracked its walls, while Hikari and Shion realized another blow would destroy it.

Ch. 1495The Coercion Plan

Shinji arrived in time to save Shion’s Mage Tower, purged Hikari and Shion of the Black Giant Serpent’s corruption, and sealed both the serpent and the gray-white mist. He planned to use the two sealed fragments to deter the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord from encroaching on the Six Rings World.

  • The Black Giant Serpent charged at Shion’s Mage Tower, but Shinji froze it with the Imperial God Palace before it could strike.
  • Shinji purged the corruption from Hikari and Shion, then pulled the Black Giant Serpent away from the tower and wounded it.
  • Shinji sealed the Black Giant Serpent with Planetary Devastation, creating a second moon above the Six Rings World.
  • Shinji told Hikari and Shion that destroying the Overlord fragments could endanger the Six Rings World, while keeping them sealed might protect it.
  • Shinji sensed that the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord were still evenly matched and planned to release the opposing sealed fragment if either encroached on the Six Rings World.

Ch. 1496After the Battle

After the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord moved away from the Six Rings World, Shinji and the survivors assessed the battle and the losses. Shinji warned that the danger was not over and called for preparations in case either Overlord returned.

  • Shinji sensed that the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord were moving away from the Six Rings World, though their battle continued.
  • Shinji told Alice, Shion, and the Lantern Bearers that he had sealed the Overlords’ power inside the two moons and explained his hostage plan.
  • Arcane sensed that the Plague Overlord’s corruption had stopped, and Shion confirmed that the Overlords were moving away.
  • The surviving Lantern Bearers gathered for a postwar meeting and acknowledged the deaths of Ghost, Gladiator, Whitebeard, and Night Hawk.
  • Shinji urged everyone to prepare for either Overlord to return if one defeated the other.

Ch. 1497Public Deterrence

Shinji and the Six Rings World leaders planned to deter the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord by revealing their hostage plan, while preparing for another invasion. Shinji left to take Shion away from the Six Rings World’s contamination and learned Alice might know where Ghost and the others came from.

  • Alice proposed revealing the hostage plan to make the Plague Overlord and the Breeding Overlord restrain each other, and Shinji agreed to use it as deterrence.
  • Alice took responsibility for sending information spheres to the Overlords, Hengo for an early-warning system, the old martial artist for repairs, and Arcane for the spatial barriers and Archmages.
  • Shinji told Arcane to train a sixth Archmage and said he would take Shion away to reduce contamination.
  • Arcane reassured Shinji that Alice might know which worlds Ghost and the others came from, and Shinji and Arcane vowed to protect those worlds.
