Shinji captured Owl’s Conversion, cultivated another Chakra Fruit, and intervened in the Research Institute’s rituals while battling the Overlord of Fear in World 5. After the battle exposed a new threat and forced Shinji to flee the collapsing world, Orochimaru suspected that Yamada Juichi had secretly awakened a divine technique.

• Owl awakened Conversion during testing, defected from the Research Institute, and was captured by Shinji, who forced him to transfer the ability into a White Zetsu Clone before sacrificing him to the Divine Tree.
• Orochimaru conducted a separate Cocoon Transformation ritual for Genyumaru, then stole Genyumaru’s space-time Divine Art, Claw Mark, and left him to die.
• After a Research Institute ritual subject rampaged and died, Shinji visited Six Rings World, postponed confronting the Plague Overlord, and planted two protected Divine Trees in World 5.
• Shinji thwarted the Overlord of Fear’s attempt to disrupt Yamada Juichi’s ritual, and Yamada emerged successfully transformed but showed no divine art in the Institute’s tests.
• As World 5’s barrier weakened, Shinji fought the Overlord’s black beetle swarm for nearly three days, defeated it, and became the object of worship for three mage corps that formed the Sky Dome Cult.
• Shinji identified the Overlord’s mental power as the Bewitching Overlord’s ability, learned World 5 would soon collapse, stored the Divine Trees, and left for the Shinobi World.

Orochimaru stole divine arts from the Research Institute’s test subjects while Shinji fought the Bewitching Overlord across collapsing worlds and gathered Chakra Fruits. Shinji sacrificed Otsutsuki Urashiki and Fuma Ichiro to his Divine Trees, leaving their new fruits to mature.

• Orochimaru defeated Yamada Juichi, secretly absorbed his awakening Great Strength divine technique, and learned the Research Institute was purging corrupt personnel.
• Shinji trapped the Bewitching Overlord’s insect swarm as World 3 collapsed, then escaped and later defeated the Overlord’s Dark Light Bug in World 6 before fleeing with two Divine Trees.
• Naruto and Sasuke arrived at the Research Institute, where Sasuke defeated Yamada Juichi and the researchers began their sixth ritual.
• The sixth ritual subject emerged with Otsutsuki features, and Shinji took him and Yamada Juichi to a desolate dimension and sacrificed them to separate Divine Trees.
• Shinji harvested Chakra Fruits, grew stronger, and prepared the Lantern Bearers for an assault as the Six Rings World neared collapse.
• The seventh ritual produced Fuma Ichiro, who overwhelmed Naruto and displayed a precognitive divine technique, while Orochimaru secretly performed another ritual and stole divine arts.

Shinji ascended to Kekkei Sōra, gave a second Chakra Fruit to Hikari, and led the fight against the Plague Overlord in the Six Rings World. He sealed parts of both Overlords in moons and left the survivors preparing for their possible return.

• Shinji ate the larger Chakra Fruit, attained Kekkei Sōra, and realized his divine arts were limited by his knowledge.
• Shinji offered the remaining Chakra Fruit to the strongest candidate, and Hikari defeated Sasuke before Karin withdrew and endorsed her.
• Hikari ate the Chakra Fruit and reached Kekkei Mōra, then joined Shinji on the mission to the Six Rings World.

Shinji prepared the Shinobi World for an approaching battle with the Overlord of Fear by developing a world-spanning barrier and assembling fighters to defend its key nodes. As the plan neared completion, Orochimaru remained at large and discovered that Owl was still alive.

• Shinji learned the Six Rings World’s magic, then warned his allies that a fight with an Overlord could destroy the Shinobi World and launched the confidential Bulwark Plan.
• Shinji searched Orochimaru’s ritual laboratory, found its sacrifices but not Orochimaru, and sealed the meeting attendees’ memories of the Six Rings World War to keep the Overlord from learning about it.
• Shinji made Karin the Ten-Tails’ jinchūriki and pushed her to Kekkei Mōra, removed Momoshiki and Kinshiki from Neji and Kimimaro’s Kāma, and experimented on clones until one developed a stable Jōgan.
• Shinji transformed the Jōgan’s power into the Time River, saw the Overlord destroy the Shinobi World’s future, and recruited Kaguya Otsutsuki after she fought Sasuke and Naruto.
