Shinji severed the Demon Slayer World’s anchors, strengthened his Dojutsu, and prepared to pursue new Kekkei Genkai. During Konoha’s Forest of Death exam, Night Owl’s team abducted Sasuke, leaving Shinji to secretly confront them as an Akatsuki member.

• Yugito Nii defeated Demonized Tanjiro, but he survived Shinji’s Amaterasu and triggered an avalanche before Shinji destroyed the fourth anchor and headed for the Land of Water.
• Haku, Mei Terumi, and Kisame defeated Giyu Tomioka, who burned to ash in the sunlight, and Haku destroyed the fifth anchor, stopping the countdown to the world’s destruction.
• Shinji returned to Konoha, chose improved Yin Release Chakra quality as his reward, and became a Lantern Bearer after the Lamp revealed widespread contamination.
• Shinji learned that the villages were investigating him and his allies, then concluded that controlling different Dōjutsu Kekkei Genkai could strengthen his eyes through the Susanoo Lamp.
• Meiqiu found Night Owl’s hideout, and Shinji decided to seek him out while Scorpion recruited Night Owl to kidnap an Uchiha child for the Akatsuki Organization.
• The Forest of Death exam began, and Sasuke, Kimimaro, Neji, and Shinji’s team advanced as student teams and interception squads fought throughout the forest.
• Night Owl’s disguised team abducted Sasuke, but Shinji rescued him before the impostors escaped, then secretly pursued them in Akatsuki attire.
• Shinji confronted Night Owl in the forest after Night Owl said the Akatsuki Organization had ordered Sasuke’s kidnapping, and Shinji asked to borrow something.

Shinji gathered Red Eyes, helped Yakumo and Ido, and arranged for Mizuki to be exposed as an Akatsuki spy. The arc ended with Naruto beginning training under Jiraiya while Shinji waited for Konoha’s investigation to ease so he could resume his plans.

• Shinji defeated Night Owl’s group, took their Red Eyes, and used the disruption to conceal his own involvement as Konoha investigated the attempted abduction.
• Shinji fused two pairs of Red Eyes with the Susanoo Lamp, then learned that Shion’s sensory abilities had strengthened as Moryo returned.
• Shinji entered Yakumo’s inner world, offered to help her control Ido, and arranged a gradual recovery for Yakumo using Yang Release Chakra.
• Shinji discovered that Ido could leave Yakumo’s body as a Spirit Body, while Tsunade investigated Yakumo’s unexplained improvement.
• Yakumo and Sasuke tested their genjutsu on Naruto, but Ido fled when she encountered the Nine-Tails inside him.
• Shinji recruited Mizuki as an apparent Akatsuki spy and prompted him to persuade Naruto to steal the Scroll of Seals.
• ANBU arrested Mizuki with the scroll, and Inoichi found memories proving Mizuki had passed information to the Akatsuki Organization before the memory seal destroyed itself.
• Jiraiya began training Naruto after Naruto worried that Sasuke would replace him, while Shinji planned to resume his Rinnegan and Tenseigan work once Konoha stopped investigating.

Shinji investigated the Chinoike Clan’s Ketsuryūgan and fused its power with the Red Eye to create the Red Dragon Eye, which he transplanted into Yakumo. Naruto mastered the Rasengan while Yakumo’s new eyes surfaced during a spar with Sasuke, leading the Third Hokage to order her condition sealed and Tsunade to take her as a student.

• Naruto mastered the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, and Jiraiya began teaching him the Rasengan.
• Shinji transplanted a damaged Mangekyō Sharingan into Karin, then investigated the Chinoike Clan and recruited Oyakuro after harvesting Ketsuryūgan from the clan’s dead.
• Shinji fused the Ketsuryūgan and Red Eye into the Red Dragon Eye with help from Karin, Haku, Neji, and Yakumo, then chose Yakumo to receive it.
• Shinji transplanted the Red Dragon Eye into Yakumo, giving her the ability to see through objects, perceive chakra and blood, and let Ido manifest as a Spirit Body.
• Naruto mastered the Rasengan through Shadow Clone training and collapsed from exhaustion, while Shinji continued experimenting with Yakumo and White Zetsu Cells.
• Yakumo fought Sasuke at the Academy and used her new abilities to resist his genjutsu, but the Red Dragon Eye drove her weakened body toward collapse until Shinji stopped the match.
• Tsunade and Jiraiya discovered Yakumo’s unusual eye chakra and improved health, and the Third Hokage ordered the information sealed and assigned Tsunade to take Yakumo as her student.

Yakumo survived Tsunade’s First Hokage cell transplant, gained a Sage Body and Wood Release, and defeated several of the Academy’s strongest students before Shinji beat her. The Third Hokage kept her Red Dragon Eye secret and planned an explanation for her public use of Wood Release, while Orochimaru sought Tsunade’s surgical records and a Kurama child’s eyes.

• Tsunade discovered Yakumo’s Red Dragon Eye and, with Shinji’s guidance, trained her while keeping the dōjutsu’s details secret.
• Tsunade performed a First Hokage cell transplant on Yakumo, and Shinji used Magatsu to suppress the dangerous fusion and save her life.
• Yakumo recovered with a Sage Body, learned Tsunade’s Superhuman Strength Punch, and defeated Sasuke, Neji, and Kimimaro.
• Yakumo challenged Shinji in the Forest of Death and unleashed Wood Release after he urged her to fight seriously.
• Shinji and Princess Fuki combined Fire and Wind Release to stop Yakumo’s sea of trees, then Shinji knocked her unconscious.
• Yakumo accepted her defeat and returned to the Academy, while Sasuke, Naruto, and other students resolved to train harder.
• The Third Hokage agreed to conceal the Red Dragon Eye and explain Yakumo’s Wood Release as a result of her surgery.
• Danzo confronted Orochimaru over Yakumo’s Wood Release, and Orochimaru requested Tsunade’s surgical records and the eyes of a Kurama Clan child.
