Shinji advanced his plans for the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan while escorting Shion to the Land of Demons, where Danzo’s Root agents and the Yellow Springs Cult attacked the group. The arc ended with Moryo’s merged host unleashing tentacles and Shinji engulfing them in Amaterasu.

• Shinji led Haku and Karin away from the battle in the freezing fog, then Kakashi found the aftermath and the Akatsuki members gone.
• Haku and Karin discovered their villages had both ordered them to investigate the Akatsuki, but agreed to keep their missions secret from Shinji.
• Shinji’s team defeated Neji’s and Sasuke’s teams, then beat Kimimaro’s team in the class competition while Shinji secretly took a piece of Kimimaro’s flesh.
• Shinji awakened Karin’s Mangekyō, replaced her eyes with Chiri Uchiha’s Mangekyō, and fused Chiri’s eyes with Fugaku Uchiha’s eyes to advance his own Dojutsu.
• Shinji joined Shion’s escort to the Land of Demons, where Sasuke, Kimimaro, and Neji also came along and Danzo ordered Root to abduct Sasuke and kill Shinji.
• Obito and Zetsu helped the Yellow Springs Cult break Moryo’s seal, while Root ambushed Shion’s group and Shinji killed one of the attackers.
• The Yellow Springs Cult attacked the convoy in a canyon, and Kakashi arrived as Moryo emerged and stone warriors forced Shinji and the others to flee with Shion.
• Shinji’s real body arrived to protect Sasuke, and after using Izanagi to learn that the cult leader had merged with Moryo, Shinji engulfed the leader and its tentacles in Amaterasu.

Sasuke left Konoha to pursue Itachi, drawing Shinji and forces from several villages into a clash with the Akatsuki Organization. The Five Great Shinobi Villages began coordinating against the Akatsuki as Shinji pursued new experiments and Neji sought the Tenseigan.

• Shinji expanded his plans for his Dojutsu and experimented with Karin’s chakra, while Neji awakened Rotation and learned that the Tenseigan’s secret lay on the moon.
• The Five Kage gathered in Konoha to discuss the Akatsuki Organization but failed to agree on a plan, as the Akatsuki continued recruiting members including Hiruko.
• Shinnō lured Sasuke out of Konoha by promising to lead him to Itachi, and Shinji assembled a team to pursue them.
• Kirigakure, Iwagakure, and Kumogakure forces converged on Sasuke, while Shinji’s team encountered Shinnō and several Akatsuki members on the battlefield.
• Juzo Biwa took Sasuke to Itachi, who defeated him with genjutsu, while Shinji and the other Akatsuki members ended their confrontation and withdrew.
• The Five Great Shinobi Villages agreed to share intelligence on the Akatsuki, while Sasuke remained comatose and Shinji’s injured companions recovered.
• Karin reported Kusagakure’s demands to Shinji and agreed to help restore a ruined pair of Mangekyō Sharingan that he transplanted into her.

Shinji and Neji uncovered the Otsutsuki Branch Family’s plan to destroy Earth, while the Akatsuki ambushed Kumogakure and captured Yugito Nii. As the Five Great Shinobi Villages formed a Joint Force and Shinji faced a four-day deadline to destroy five anchors, several characters left their villages for Akatsuki recruitment tests.

• Obito and Nagato ended their secret operations and agreed to focus on capturing Jinchuriki, while each pursued separate plans to strengthen the Akatsuki.
• Shinji and Neji traveled to the moon, discovered that the Otsutsuki Branch Family planned to destroy Earth, and fought their way out after Neji killed an elder and Shinji confronted another.
• The Akatsuki ambushed the Fourth Raikage’s force, captured Yugito Nii, and battled Killer B, while the Otsutsuki Branch Elder drained Killer B’s chakra and destroyed Moryo.
• Shinji escaped with the unconscious Yugito Nii and Neji, hid Yugito in the Land of Fire, and sent Neji back to Konoha as the villages learned of the Akatsuki’s attack.
• The Five Kage agreed to form a Joint Force against the Akatsuki, while Shinji investigated the Otsutsuki Byakugan and planned to help Neji awaken the Tenseigan.
• The Lantern Bearer planted five anchors, and the Lamp warned Shinji that the Shinobi World would be destroyed in four days unless they were eliminated.
• Shinji recruited Karin, Haku, and Kimimaro for help, while the Hyuga Clan agreed to help Neji pass an Akatsuki test.
• The Five Kage sent an elite force after Yugito Nii, and Karin, Haku, Kimimaro, and Neji left their respective locations for recruitment tests as crimson eyes watched them depart.

Shinji and his allies raced to destroy the worlds’ anchor points while the Joint Force and other shinobi faced demons and Demon Slayer swordsmen. Three anchors were severed, and Shinji confronted Upper Moon One at the Land of Lightning anchor with Yugito’s Two-Tails fighting at his side.

• Sasuke reported Naruto’s abduction by A to the Third Hokage, and Tsunade led a rescue team as the Joint Force pursued Yugito Nii into a trap involving Kokushibo and Narume’s Infinite Castle.
• Kokushibo scattered the Joint Force through the city, while Shinji used Yugito’s Tailed Beast Ball to destroy the Fire Country anchor and escaped with Naruto.
• Tsunade caught Shinji, but he fled with Naruto to the Wind Country anchor, where Rengoku Kyojuro attacked him and Shinji burned Rengoku to ash with Amaterasu before destroying the anchor.
• Karin’s Susanoo overwhelmed demons near the Earth Country anchor, allowing Neji to enter the cave and smash its five stone slabs.
• Haku reached the island guarding the Water Country anchor, but Giyu Tomioka fought him and Kirigakure’s Mei Terumi and Kisame, forcing them to retreat without reaching the anchor.
• Upper Moon One defeated Kimimaro in the snowy mountains, and Shinji arrived to face him as Yugito’s Two-Tails Matatabi collided with the demon.
