Background / History
Gu Shaoan is a transmigrated game developer who arrived in a world based on a game he helped create. Possessing the golden talent [Abbess's Favor], he chose Emei as a refuge and initially sought only a safe place to stay. 1 3
Three months before Emei's recruitment, Master Juechen encountered him at a mountain temple, where he offered her a meal. His account was that he came from a scholarly Jiangnan family that was later slaughtered by mountain bandits; Juechen rescued him and brought him to Mount Emei. 1
During Emei's entrance examinations, he calmly climbed the obstructed stone steps and was the first applicant to leave the bamboo forest, having identified the exit through the bamboo's direction of growth. 2 His roots were assessed as Good on his status panel, while his meridians were recognized as unusually strong. 3
Abbess Miejue personally accepted him as her direct disciple, unlocking his cultivation path, a second talent slot, and the Achievement Point Roulette. 3 He thereafter resided in a bamboo courtyard on Emei's rear mountain alongside Miejue's other disciples. 4 6
Appearance
Gu Shaoan is a handsome, refined boy with the composed bearing and scholarly air associated with his claimed upbringing. At eleven, he stands just over four feet tall. 3 23 44
- Usually wears Emei's blue-and-white disciple robes. 7
- Keeps his black hair tied back with a blue ribbon or headband. 7 22
- Has a straight-backed, steady posture that elders and disciples repeatedly notice. 2 23
- His small stature made his nearly three-foot sword look oversized, prompting laughter from other Emei disciples. 23
Personality
Gu Shaoan is notably calm, patient, and difficult to provoke. He endures slow internal cultivation without impatience, remains composed under attention, and does not become arrogant despite his rapid gains. 6 10 14
He is analytical and cautious in the jianghu. Before acting against the Blackwood Mountain bandits, he supports gathering intelligence; at Yunlai Inn, he tests Miejue's tea for poison rather than assuming it is safe. 24 25 After gaining twenty years of cultivation through a card, he deliberately conceals the increase as a trump card instead of displaying it. 42 43
He is respectful toward his elders and grateful to those who aid him, particularly Juechen. He also takes a protective, instructive role toward Zhou Zhiruo, discussing the burdens of sect leadership and encouraging her to understand Miejue's responsibilities. 23 37 38
