Lord Elephant? Fortune-telling?
Kanami asked, "Where did you get this information about me... not being Chi?"
"Since you also like red, I'll reluctantly tell you."
The young man looked left and right, then leaned close to Kanami's ear and whispered, "This is all what that 'Elephant' rank of the Anbu Guard told me! He also told me not to tell anyone else!"
I told you not to tell anyone else, and you still told me?
Kanami glanced at him. "So that's all you're telling me?"
"You're no stranger; people who like Chi are all good people!"
The young man chuckled.
"However, you really shouldn't have used the identity of 'Red' to deceive this lovely girl!"
"Weren't you just trying to poach my girlfriend?"
"Little brother, what are you saying? How could I possibly steal your man?"
The young man glanced at Hinata sideways, sighing inwardly.
'Her eyes are only for you. Even if I wanted to, I probably wouldn't have the chance.'
He didn't say the second half of that sentence.
He's a grown man, doesn't he have any pride? It would be too embarrassing to say it out loud.
But why would someone want to publicize something like this everywhere?
Kanami scratched his head, unable to figure it out.
Could it be someone else, like the person in front of me, in disguise?
"Could you take me to see that Anbu Elephant you mentioned?"
The young man's eyes widened as he shouted, "No! That would mean he'd find out I told others about him! He's Anbu! I'm risking my life to tell you this!"
Kanami's expression changed, and he said coldly, "You're afraid he'll kill you, but aren't you afraid I'll kill you too?"
His aura changed instantly.
Upon hearing this, the young man felt a chill run down his spine, even though it was broad daylight.
He glanced at the red-haired boy in front of him; a chilling aura seemed to emanate from him!
Even though he's not as tall as me, he gives me the feeling that he's taller and bigger than me.
At that moment, Hinata nudged Kanami's side with her little hand.
Kanami grabbed Hinata's small hand and said, "I was just teasing him."
Then, Kanami changed the subject, looking at the young man and smiling, "How is it? Do I look good?"
The young man then felt his stiff body suddenly regain its mobility.
He chuckled sheepishly, "Sure! For a moment, I really thought you were Akari himself, although I've never seen his aura, haha..."
"Take me to meet that elephant. I've been a fan of Chi for ten years, and I really want to know more about him."
Kanami was spouting nonsense with a straight face.
"Alright, since we both love the same red, I'll take you to meet that man."
The young man then led the way, while Kanami and Hinata followed behind.
What are we going to do?
Hinata held Kanami's small hand, eating Three-Color Dango.
"Hmm... we don't really have anything important to do, so let's go check it out, it might be quite interesting."
Kanami handed the last string of Three-Color Dango to Hinata.
Aww
Hinata swallowed the last string of Three-Color Dango in one gulp and stared at him with her big eyes.
"You promised me you'd help me with my cultivation tonight."
For the rest of the week, Kanami and Hinata spent almost Tenten together, eating, sleeping, and going back and forth between the various shops in the village.
Although she was very happy, Hinata would always worry afterwards, concerned that her training was falling behind, especially since she hadn't completed any commissioned tasks in a long time.
They would feel guilty, thinking they shouldn't have been so negligent.
But for some reason, whenever she saw Kanami, she wanted to be close to him. Her mind was filled with Kanami, and she forgot all about her cultivation.
Kanami stopped and looked at Hinata, saying, "Yes, Lord Hinata!"
"Then it's settled. Tonight you can only cultivate, and you can't bully me like before..."
Hinata's face flushed slightly, and her voice gradually softened from normal.
"Hehe, okay." Kanami chuckled foolishly.
"Arrive."
The young man at the front led the two to a dilapidated old house.
"Right here?"
"Yes, that's where I met Lord Elephant before."
The young man's words were full of admiration.
Would elephants come to a place like this?
This shabby little house looks exactly like the kind of place only a charlatan would stay in.
Thinking about this, Kanami roughly guessed what the so-called "elephant" image that would appear here later would look like.
"Brother Xiang! Are you there? It's me Aku."
The young man pushed open the rickety wooden door and went inside.
A masked man at the very back said, "Didn't I tell you not to tell anyone about me?"
The young man bowed his head and explained, "Brother Xiang, he's my little brother, and also a loyal fan of Chi. They want to know more about Chi."
When Kanami heard the voice, he felt a slight sense of familiarity.
"It can't actually be an image, can it?"
After Kanami and Hinata went inside together, the masked man paused for a moment and unconsciously uttered a single word.
"Red?"
"Ah?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Kanami was dumbfounded.
He hadn't expected it to actually be an elephant, but the mask the other person was wearing was clearly not his own special mask for the Anbu; it was just a cheap, low-quality mask bought from a street stall.
"Is it really you? What are you doing here?"
"Uh, cough," Elephant coughed lightly, "I'm here to tell fortunes..."
'Fortune telling? You're saying that?'
Kanami glanced at him. "You don't seem very good at lying."
'Didn't I introduce them? How come they seem to have a better relationship than I do with Lord Elephant?'
The young man scratched his head in confusion. "Little brother, what were you talking about with Lord Elephant? I don't quite understand. Do you two know each other?"
"Little brother... Aku, is this the little brother you were talking about?"
The elephant's lips twitched a few times.
Fortunately, he was wearing a mask, so his expression couldn't be seen at all, allowing him to maintain an air of mystery in front of the young man.
"Yeah, that's right. He called himself Chi on the street, but I called him out on the spot."
Hearing the young man Aku's words, Xiang almost fell over. "You imposter, you're standing in front of the real thing and exposing the genuine article?"
Kanami asked again, "Xiang, what exactly are you doing here?"
"Young man, he is a senior, how can you address him by his name? Call Lord Elephant, just like I do."
'Should he call me Lord Elephant?'
The elephant's eyes widened Killer Bee, and it hissed, "Shut up."
"Don't be angry, Lord Elephant. My little brother here is ignorant. I'll have him apologize to you."
Aku glared at Kanami, her eyes flashing with fury, signaling him to apologize to Xiang.
The elephant roared, "I told you to shut up!"
"What? Me?" Aku pointed to herself in disbelief.
Seeing his dazed expression, Xiang couldn't help but curse, "He's just... you idiot!"
"He's Chi? How could that be? He's clearly my little brother..."
Aku suddenly thought of something, his words stopped abruptly, and his eyes widened as he combined the previous conversation with the one between the two of them.
My heart jumped into my throat.
"You, you, you can't really be Chi, can you?"
"Hahaha... How could that be..."
Aku's forehead was covered in cold sweat.
