Background
Feng An originated on Blue Star and was transmigrated into the ninja world as an infant. His mother died in childbirth, and he did not know his father. Hated by people connected to his mother, he left his relatives at age six using his accumulated savings. 1
At the Ninja Academy, Feng An was known as a poor student who barely passed his examinations. He was initially left without an instructor after graduation, though he completed nine D-rank missions alongside Team 8. 1 40
Kurenai recruited him into Team 8 after recognizing his unusually cautious temperament and Hinata's interest in him. Though reluctant to undertake missions or pursue the Chūnin rank, Feng An accepted the placement and trained with Hinata, Kiba, Shino, and Akamaru. 3 4
Appearance
Feng An is a tall red-haired youth whose appearance is frequently contrasted with his overwhelming power and maturity. His red hair and refusal to wear a standard Konoha flak jacket make him immediately recognizable. 326 469
- Long red hair, later tied back with a headband 469
- Fair complexion that becomes distinctly milky white after absorbing Kaguya's chakra 494
- Nearly 1.8 meters tall by the later story 469
- Three Tomoe Sharingan in his normal ocular state; can activate Mangekyō Sharingan 245
- Six Paths and tomoe markings emerge during combat after gaining Six Paths power 494 505
Personality
Feng An is calm, pragmatic, and rarely motivated by conventional shinobi ambition. As a young genin, he openly dismissed the appeal of becoming a Chūnin and preferred safety over risking his life against enemies beyond his ability. 3
His knowledge from Blue Star gives him an unusual perspective on the ninja world, its history, and figures such as Obito, Nagato, and the Ōtsutsuki. He frequently uses this knowledge to unsettle opponents, expose secrets, or anticipate techniques before they are used. 206 208 337
Despite his detached manner, Feng An is deeply protective of Hinata and increasingly concerned with protecting Konoha from future threats. His methods can be ruthless: he intimidates enemies with a severed head, kills powerful political figures, and accepts being feared if it serves his goals. 35 549 563
He does not seek leadership for its own sake. Even after becoming one of the strongest figures in the ninja world, he declines a leading position and frames his long-term reforms as a way to eventually live peacefully with Hinata. 486 577
