Lin Dong grew up in the Yan City Branch of the Lin Clan. His father, Lin Xiao, had once been a promising Heavenly Yuan Realm expert whose ambitions to return the branch to the Inner Clan ended when Lin Langtian defeated and crippled him in a clan gathering. The incident shaped Lin Dong's long-standing resentment toward Lin Langtian and his determination to surpass him. 14
