Background / History

Qiankun Sect was formerly the hegemonic force of the Qiankun Continent, ruling the continent and exerting influence over nearby smaller continents. Its remaining territory is still vast, although it represents only a small portion of the wider Qiankun Continent. 721 723

The sect’s decline began roughly three hundred years before Lin Langtian’s arrival, when internal strife broke out. Huang Kurong, then a talented Qiankun Sect disciple with his own faction, became associated with the rebellion that led to the Earth Desolate Hall’s separation. 721

A deeper cause is later revealed: Xue Wuya, an associate of the former sect master, coveted the Great Sun Undying Body cultivation method. He ambushed and severely injured the former sect master, whose eventual death weakened Qiankun Sect enough for Huang Kurong’s rebellion to succeed. The sect was forced to retreat from the Wuji Continent and recover in its homeland. 910

By the time Lin Langtian reaches the Qiankun Continent, the sect remains a prominent force but is regarded as the weakest King-level force and faces pressure from the Earth Desolate Hall, the Chaos Domain, and other rivals. 721 725

Headquarters and Territory

Qiankun Heaven

Qiankun Heaven is the sect’s headquarters: an immense floating landmass large enough to resemble a small continent. It is accessible through a thousand-ren Light Gate and a Path of Light guarded by black-armored soldiers. 723

  • A powerful guardian Spirit Formation envelops Qiankun Heaven; Spirit Aunt judges that even an Earthly Supreme would struggle to breach it. 723
  • More than one hundred black-armored guards defend the entrance under a Black Armored Captain. 723 724
  • The sect maintains numerous cities and subordinate forces; it has nearly a thousand City Lords. 792
  • Qiankun Plaza contains the Enfeoffment Platform, where new Kings are invested. 793

Qiankun Spirit Pool

The Qiankun Spirit Pool is a major internal resource contested through a sect-wide competition at Spirit Pool Peak.

  • Only five competitors may reach the pool in each competition. 733 739
  • The pool can help perfect a cultivator’s Supreme Dharma Body. 732
  • Participants must climb Spirit Pool Peak through the Spirit Pool Torrent while contending with rival commanders. 733
  • The Qiankun Golden Platform determines the final five qualifiers. 735 739

Story Role / Major Arcs

Lin Langtian’s admission

Song Yanfei gives Lin Langtian a Qiankun Gold Token after explaining the sect’s history and decline. Lin later presents the token at Qiankun Heaven, where Great Elder Gan Qiong verifies it and offers him a commander position in any palace. 720 721 723 724

Lin is assigned as commander of Yinlan Palace under Palace Master Jiang Yinlan. His arrival is initially resisted because he is an unknown cultivator from a Lower Plane, but Gan Qiong insists that he may bring major change to the palace. 724 725

Qiankun Spirit Pool Competition

As commander of the Yinlan Guard, Lin Langtian participates in the Qiankun Spirit Pool Competition. He defeats the Heavenly Mountain Five Absolutes, reaches the Qiankun Golden Platform, and later defeats Dong Kui, leader of the Five Great Commanders, to claim one of the five Spirit Pool quotas. 735 739

His performance causes the elders to regard him as an exceptional talent capable of helping restore the sect’s standing. 735

War against the Chaos Domain

Gan Tian launches a conquest war against the Chaos Domain, promising territory and a Dragon Kun Realm quota to commanders who distinguish themselves. 752

When the conflict is settled through a three-battle wager, Lin Langtian is selected for the decisive Commander battle. He defeats Song Zang with the Eight Directions Chaos Yuan Technique, securing victory for Qiankun Sect. 764 766 769

The victory earns the sect one million Supreme Spirit Liquids and a thousand cities, while raising both Lin Langtian’s prestige and Yinlan Palace’s standing. 769 772

Dragon Kun Realm and King conferment

Lin Langtian defeats Yang Hao for Qiankun Sect’s sole Dragon Kun Realm quota. 772 773

His achievements in the Dragon Kun Realm—including defeating Liu Tianxing, fighting Huang Buxiu, and reaching the tenth tier of the Dragon Kun Ladder—bring major prestige to Qiankun Sect. 792

At the King Conferment Festival, Lin defeats Zhao Gao and Li Xueshou simultaneously, proving his eligibility to become the sect’s tenth King. 794

Continent Hunt Battle

The sect enters the Continent Hunt Battle under Lin Langtian and Jiang Yinlan’s leadership. During the campaign, Lin becomes a Battle Formation Master, giving Qiankun Sect a strategically valuable asset. 797 827 829

The sect emerges as the greatest beneficiary of the conflict. After Lin receives the Qiankun Demon Suppressing Pagoda and gains Spirit Aunt’s protection, Gan Tian promotes him to Vice Sect Master. 849 850

Vice Sect Master dispute

Following Lin’s absence, powerful newcomers challenge his authority and Jiang Yinlan’s control of Yinlan Palace. Lin returns and suppresses the dissidents with Earthly Supreme-level power. 904

At the Sect Assembly, Xue Mingzi and the Savage Emperor contest his position. Lin defeats both with a single strike; Gan Tian then formally confirms him as Vice Sect Master, equal in status to the sect master and responsible for overseeing all palaces and halls. 906 908

Restoration of continental supremacy

After Lin defeats Xue Wuya, cripples his cultivation, and dissolves the Blood God Sect, Gan Tian offers him the position of sect master. Lin refuses in order to pursue higher realms while maintaining his freedom. 944

In the aftermath, Qiankun Sect unifies the Qiankun Continent, restoring its position as the continent’s dominant force. 945
