Before the Primordial Beginning divided, Chaos had yet to be separated. Heaven and Earth were like a single, unformed egg, filled with turbulent, chaotic currents.
Gray mist stretched endlessly, soundless and still, neither bright nor dark. Only eternal silence shrouded everything.
Time had no meaning in Chaos. Who could say how many tens of thousands of kalpas had passed, or how much longer still had quietly slipped away?
Then, one day, flecks of spiritual light burst forth amid the endless Chaos. Streams of Chaos Origin came into being from nothingness, ravenously devouring the surrounding Chaos Energy Streams.
Each Origin became a gigantic vortex, frantically absorbing everything around it and stirring waves across the boundless Chaos.
Who knew how many more ages passed before the Origins finally stopped devouring, as though they had reached some kind of limit?
In an instant, all of Chaos shook—
RUMBLE!!!
Deafening booms erupted throughout Chaos. Boundless currents surged like raging seas.
Enormous figures stepped out of the Origins. Each stood ten thousand feet tall, their forms wildly different: some had dragon heads and human bodies, some had three heads and six arms, some had wings growing from their backs, and some were wreathed in lightning.
As soon as these Chaos Demon Gods were born, they radiated the terrifying aura of Primordial Chaos Golden Immortals, making the surrounding currents tremble.
From then on, Chaos was no longer peaceful.
Over countless kalpas, the Demon Gods fought one another for their rivals' Origins and sought to comprehend the truths of the Great Dao, unleashing battle after earth-shaking battle across Chaos.
When their divine abilities collided, Chaos shattered and reformed. Countless weaker Demon Gods perished in the brutal slaughter, their Origins devoured by the victors, giving rise to even mightier beings.
Ages turned, and who knew how many hundreds of millions of kalpas had passed? Of the countless millions of Demon Gods from long ago, only three thousand remained.
Every one of these Chaos Demon Gods had survived countless battles and devoured the Origins of innumerable kin. Their cultivation had long since broken through to the Primordial Chaos Great Luo realm. Terrifying pressure radiated from them, making all who sensed it tremble, yet they stood firm in the boundless Chaos.
As the saying went: time reigns supreme, space stands above all, fate is emperor, and karma is king.
Among the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods, four were the mightiest: Time Demon God Shi Chen, Space Demon God Yang Mei, Fate Demon God Ming Lu, and Karma Demon God Yin Tuo.
All four had reached the Primordial Chaos Limitless Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm.
Once the Chaos Demon Gods numbered three thousand, the wars of Chaos came to an end, and peace returned.
Time had no meaning in Chaos. Who knew how many more kalpas passed?
Somewhere in Chaos, the Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus bloomed. An egg rested upon its Lotus Platform, surrounded by countless profound Great Dao Runes.
The Great Dao Runes above the enormous egg suddenly blazed with dazzling light, then shattered with a crash, turning into a torrent of the most primordial Dao resonance.
The eggshell cracked apart, bit by bit, amid dazzling radiance. An immense quantity of Chaos Qi was frantically devoured by an invisible force.
The next moment, an incomparably majestic figure rose from the shattered shell. His body grew at a dizzying pace, his head reaching into Chaos and his feet treading upon the darkness below.
Knotted muscles covered his body, as though it held the supreme power to split open the Primordial Beginning. With every breath he took, the entire sea of Chaos churned!
Pangu had been born!
He was the last Demon God nurtured by the Great Dao, the wielder of the Great Dao of Strength, and the mightiest of the Chaos Demon Gods.
With his birth, the saying that time reigned supreme, space stood above all, fate was emperor, and karma was king ceased to hold true. Only strength reigned supreme.
After his birth, Pangu sat upon the Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus and began comprehending the Great Dao with the Jade Plate of Creation beside him.
Time had no meaning in Chaos. Who knew how many more kalpas passed before Pangu awoke from his meditation?
He briefly comprehended the Three Thousand Great Daos inscribed upon the Jade Plate of Creation. Sensing that his own Great Dao of Strength was their guiding principle, he stopped studying them further.
When Pangu awoke and saw that nothing in Chaos had changed, he picked up the axe beside him and swung it at the surrounding Chaos.
Pangu, already at the peak of the Primordial Chaos Limitless Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, made Chaos tremble with a single swing.
The Three Thousand Demon Gods, whether meditating or traveling, were startled by Pangu's blow.
They knew all too well that if Pangu succeeded in opening Heaven and Earth and attained the Great Dao realm, the Great Dao would thereafter withdraw. Their chances of attaining it would become vanishingly small.
The enmity of having one's path blocked could never be forgiven. Every Demon God rushed to stop Pangu from opening Heaven and Earth.
The Time Demon God, Space Demon God, Fate Demon God, and Karma Demon God led the way.
Seeing the countless Demon Gods coming to stop him, Pangu paid them no heed and continued opening a New World. The Demon Gods were enraged, and countless divine abilities surged toward him.
Amid the Chaos, Pangu and the Three Thousand Demon Gods fought a cataclysmic battle. No one knew how many kalpas it lasted. All of Chaos was battered into fragments, flashing with light and roaring without end.
After several kalpas of battle, both Pangu and the Chaos Demon Gods were gravely wounded. Some Demon Gods died, some fled, and others slipped into the newborn world Pangu had opened.
Though Pangu was far stronger than the Demon Gods, he had to fight his enemies while also dividing Heaven and Earth. In the end, he was severely wounded. The Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus that had accompanied him and the Jade Plate of Creation were both shattered.
"Hah!"
Pangu bellowed and swung his giant axe again, expanding the New World several times over. Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water continuously evolved within it.
Just then, the New World began to shake and close in upon itself. Enraged, Pangu flung the Sky-Opening Axe into the air. The divine axe split into three, becoming the three supreme treasures—the Taiji Diagram, Pangu Banner, and Chaos Bell—which stabilized the Heaven and Earth Order.
Yet Heaven and Earth continued to contract. Pangu immediately became a giant ten thousand feet tall. He held up the sky with his hands and braced the earth with his feet, forcing them apart.
Who knew how many ages passed before Heaven and Earth finally stopped closing in? By then, Pangu had exhausted the last of his strength and collapsed with a crash. His body became mountains and rivers, the sun and moon, and the stars. All things were born from him.
The Primordial Wilderness was newly formed, and all things came to life.
Who knew how many kalpas had passed since Pangu opened Heaven and Earth? Within the Primordial Wilderness, Chaos Qi had transformed into Innate Spiritual Qi.
Nourished for countless kalpas by the Innate Spiritual Qi, innumerable birds and beasts appeared in the Primordial Wilderness. They were its first living beings, each blessed with extraordinary gifts and born with Golden Immortal cultivation.
Yet a strange sight could be seen over the Western Continent of the Primordial: a vast red cloud floated across the sky, stretching for ten thousand miles. Beneath it stood Longevity Mountain.
On the mountain lay the Essence of Innate Earthen Energy, with the Earth Book and the Innate Spiritual Root Ginseng Fruit Tree beside it.
The Essence of Innate Earthen Energy had not yet developed sentience.
One day, a voice suddenly came from within it.
"Where is this? Who am I? What am I supposed to do?"
The voice carried confusion and alarm.
Zhao Qiankun had been a single, jobless homebody living in the twenty-first century. He had no car, no house, no wife, and had grown up in an orphanage. His greatest hobby was reading novels.
One day, while crossing the road, he had been hit by a Great Transport Truck while saving a little girl—and then transmigrated here.
Suddenly, a memory surfaced in Zhao Qiankun's mind. It was a legacy bestowed upon him by the Great Dao, which had sensed the birth of sentience within the Essence of Innate Earthen Energy.
Though Zhao Qiankun was an anomaly, the Great Dao was just and had still granted him the legacy.
Only then did Zhao Qiankun learn that he had transmigrated into the Primordial World and become Zhenyuanzi, the future Ancestor of Earth Immortals.
Once he understood the situation, Zhao Qiankun immediately swore an oath to the Great Dao.
"From this day forth, there is no longer any Zhao Qiankun in the Primordial Wilderness. I am Zhenyuanzi. Let the Great Dao bear witness."
After making the oath, Zhenyuanzi felt a great weight lift from him. The Great Dao ceased observing the anomaly.
Even if the Heavenly Dao could one day discern Zhenyuanzi's origins, it would find only the Essence of Innate Earthen Energy of the Primordial Wilderness.
