Zhan Wuji is a genius of the Northern Lands’ Zhan Family, known for an alleged ancient War Body and exceptional hand-to-hand combat ability. During the True Martial Academy’s entrance trials, his Heart Knocking Trial manifests a White Bone Dao cultivator standing over the corpses of his loved ones; he defeats the illusion through a brutal, self-destructive fight, revealing a deep blood feud with the White Bone Dao. 185

At the academy’s Inner Sect Grand Competition, he overwhelms opponents through raw physical strength and advances to face Wang Quan.
