Chen Lang is a direct descendant of the Bashu Chen Clan. His status is immediately recognized at Imperial Capital Academy, where prospective challengers withdraw after he identifies his clan affiliation. Though initially treated as an arrogant wealthy heir, he prioritizes strength and meditates as soon as he receives permission to enroll. 3 4

He entered Imperial Capital Academy to experience the outside world and improve his magic. His teacher, Zhao Qing, initially mistook his weak fluctuations and privileged background for evidence that he was an incompetent “Second Generation Ancestor.” Chen Lang overturned that judgment by defeating Ming Cong with black lightning and then winning over twenty consecutive duels. 3 5 6

Following the Bocheng catastrophe, Chen Lang chooses to pursue power rather than wait until his Intermediate cultivation peaks.
