Background / History

Tang Hao travels with his fiancée, Ah Yin, before arriving at Tian Hao's village. He initially finds Tian Hao irritating and treats the youth's theories with skepticism, but remains at the village to train, spar, and learn from him. Their early relationship is defined by constant arguments and competitive duels on unstable stone balls, oil-slick surfaces, and floating logs. 9 18 26

Despite Tian Hao's low rank, Tang Hao gradually recognizes his combat insight and theoretical knowledge. He accepts Tian Hao's explanation of Soul Master–Martial Soul Compatibility, which identifies Tang Hao's bold and domineering temperament as highly suited to the Clear Sky Hammer. 19 20 He also learns Bright Force almost immediately after receiving the method, drawing on his immense physique and prior mastery of force control. 29

Tang Hao's trust later collapses after he learns of Tian Hao's past connection to Spirit Hall and Yu Xiaogang. Convinced that Tian Hao stole Yu Xiaogang's research and may have revealed their location to Spirit Hall, Tang Hao becomes paranoid and resolves to remove Tian Hao and the villagers as potential threats to Ah Yin and the Clear Sky Sect. 35 41 82

While protecting Ah Yin from Golden Crocodile Douluo, Tang Hao loses his right arm, including an important Clear Sky Sect Soul Bone. Ah Yin escapes with him using her Flight Soul Skill. 43 His association with Ah Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year transformed soul beast, becomes a major liability for the Clear Sky Sect and contributes to its conflict with Spirit Hall. 52 56

Tang Hao later fights alongside Tang Xiao against Tian Hao and Ah Yin's side, using Explode Ring and the Great Sumeru Hammer. 84 He remains opposed to Tian Hao's allies during later conflicts, eventually retreating with Tang Xiao when faced with Yang Potian and Spirit Hall's combined pressure. 220

By the finale, the Clear Sky Sect has been destroyed, its members stripped of their martial souls and Soul Power. Tang Hao hides as a blacksmith, but Tian Hao confronts him after receiving news of Tang San's birth. Tang Hao is killed, leaving Ah Yin and Tang Yuehua in Tian Hao's care. 285

Tang Hao is proud, combative, and intensely competitive. He refuses to yield during sparring, repeatedly trains to overcome Tian Hao's unconventional methods, and treats defeats as unfinished business rather than final losses. 10 14 18 26

He is also forthright and values strength, courage, and magnanimity—the traits Tian Hao identifies as matching the Clear Sky Hammer. Tang Hao eventually respects Tian Hao's talent enough to formally introduce himself and discuss sect matters with him. 19 20

Ah Yin is Tang Hao's greatest weakness. His protectiveness toward her becomes possessiveness and paranoia once he suspects Tian Hao of being connected to Spirit Hall. His willingness to kill perceived threats, including Tian Hao and the villagers, shows that he can become ruthless when he believes Ah Yin or the Clear Sky Sect is endangered. 41
