Qian Daoliu personally intervenes when Golden Crocodile Douluo is attacked in the Clear Sky Sect conflict. As Angel Douluo, he demands an explanation for Tang Hao's association with a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast and attacks with Angel Sacred Swords and the Angel Domain. He considers the Clear Sky Sect a matter only he can properly handle, both because of Spirit Hall's reputation and Tang Chen's standing as his old rival. 56

When Tian Hao brings Ling Yuan's Soul Ring–Soul Bone conversion research to him, Qian Daoliu carefully explains why Soul Rings cannot simply be reattached: a Soul Master and Soul Ring exchange portions of their origins during absorption. Though uncertain that the problem can be solved, he offers to test whether a higher power can forcibly separate the fused origins. 74 75

He accepts Ling Yuan as his disciple and teaches her the Angel Clan's secret method for integrating Soul Bone power. After three days of instruction, Ling Yuan fully integrates her Soul Bones; Qian Daoliu then oversees her Angel God trial and names her evolved Martial Soul the Blazing Sun Ling Yuan. 94 95

Following Tian Hao's disappearance from Spirit City, Qian Daoliu detects the residual aura of the Soul Beast that had rescued Tang Hao from the Clear Sky Sect. Believing that Tian Hao has been abducted or killed, he directs his hostility toward the Clear Sky Sect and later seeks revenge for his presumed deceased granddisciple. 96 136

During Spirit Hall's assault on the Clear Sky Sect, Qian Daoliu remains in the sky and waits specifically for Tang Chen to reveal himself. Their later duel ends with Qian Daoliu using a self-developed version of Explode Ring and the divine skill Sun Sacred Sword, though Tang Chen retains the advantage in direct combat. 97 100

He discovers in Heaven Dou City that Tian Hao survived under a false identity. After learning of Spirit Hall's internal losses—including the deaths of thirty-four Soul Sages, eight Titled Douluo, and an elder—he agrees to support Tian Hao's plan to reform Spirit Hall after Bibi Dong's return. 266

Qian Daoliu subsequently allows Tian Hao to dismantle and reconstruct his cultivation foundation.
