Geography and Conditions
Tushan is a modest-height mountain shrouded year-round in miasma. Its dense forest blocks direct sunlight, leaving visibility poor even during the day; demonic howls can be heard throughout the mountain. Qingshi County residents regard it as forbidden ground, believing that those who enter do not return. 8
- The mountain’s central region is its most dangerous area and the primary growth site of Dragon’s Blood Resin. 8 14
- A cave within Tushan served as the Great Demon’s base. Its entrance was protected by sorcery and could only be entered using a token personally issued by the demon. 14
- The Great Demon’s forces could monitor activity across the mountain and arrange ambushes ahead of intruders. 14 25
Resources
- Dragon’s Blood Resin — A crucial ingredient in Golden Wound Medicine. It grows abundantly on Tushan’s hillsides, particularly in the central region. 8 14
- Demon King Pill — A coveted pill fought over by the Great Demon, Chen Guan, the Demon Suppressing Division, and White Tiger Stockade. Chen Guan ultimately consumed it, gaining the Vajra Body. 46 49

Inhabitants and Control
Great Demon of Tushan
The mountain was ruled by a transformed Great Yao at the ninth layer of the Blood Forging Realm. It commanded immense numbers of Yao and demons, used black-sand attacks, and could shift the location of its heart to survive an apparently fatal strike. 14 25 47 49
The Great Demon was later revealed to have lived under the identity of Mr. Zhao. The figure confronted during the earlier campaign was a subordinate disguised as the Great Demon, allowing the true ruler to remain hidden. 47
Yao and Demons
- Tushan housed Yao of many animal forms, including White Wolves, White Hedgehogs, Hornets, Gray Wolves, and Wild Oxen. 10 14 15 25
- The Great Demon used its forces to surround intruders, pursue escapees, and overwhelm the Demon Suppressing Division through numbers. 15 29 30
- After their ruler was slain, the surviving demons attempted to flee through the cave entrance but were blocked and exterminated. 50
Human Collusion
Qingshi County officials and members of the Qin Family supplied Tushan’s demons and cooperated with its ruler.
- County Office personnel transported covered goods into the mountain for the demon forces. 10
- Qin Zhongyi was witnessed meeting with black-robed agents in Tushan. 10
- The Great Demon consumed at least two people daily, with prisoners supplied by the County Lieutenant. 14
- Qin Wanshan and Li Tong arranged for abducted children to be sent to the “Tushan King” in exchange for power. 16
History
Chen Guan first investigated Tushan while tracing Qingshi County’s demon collusion. Qin Yanran accompanied him to gather Dragon’s Blood Resin for the Qin Family’s Golden Wound Medicine quota. During this expedition, they uncovered the Qin Family’s involvement with demons, learned of the Great Demon’s cave, and escaped successive ambushes by its forces. 8 10 14 15
The Demon Suppressing Division later launched a large-scale campaign into Tushan alongside the Blazing Flame Sect. Their advance was impeded by thousands of Yao and by Xiong Yan’s secret cooperation with the Great Demon. Mu Yuan wounded the apparent Great Demon, while Chen Guan severely injured it with Wild Goose Fist; however, the enemy escaped using black sand. 25 28 29 30
The apparent victory proved incomplete. Mr. Zhao later mobilized Yao on White Tiger Mountain in pursuit of the Demon King Pill, exposing himself as the real Great Demon of Tushan. Chen Guan faced him alone, advanced to the sixth layer of the Blood Forging Realm, and eventually acquired the Vajra Body by consuming the Demon King Pill. 46 47 48 49
With the Vajra Body’s defense and increased strength, Chen Guan destroyed the Great Demon’s internal organs despite its ability to shift its heart. The demon’s death caused its remaining forces to panic, after which Chen Guan, Mu Yuan, Liu Tai, and their allies cleared the cave of every remaining demon. 50
