Background and History

The Great Demon controlled the demons on Tushan. According to one of its messengers, it devoured at least two people a day, received prisoners from the County Lieutenant, and intended to take control of Qingshi County. It protected its cave with an enchantment that admitted only holders of tokens it had issued 14. Its forces also pursued Chen Guan and Qin Yanran after they ventured deep into Tushan and were sent to capture children taken from the county 15 21.

Operating under the identity Mr. Zhao, it dealt with human collaborators and concealed its identity from the Demon Suppressing Division 14 23 47. After an apparent Great Yao escaped a battle on Tushan, Chen Guan suspected that opponent had been too weak to be the real ruler. When Mr. Zhao appeared for the Demon King Pill, Chen Guan confronted him; Mr. Zhao revealed that the earlier opponent had been a subordinate in disguise 29 30 47.

The Great Demon sought the Demon King Pill, which could instantly advance a yao's realm. Its pursuit of the pill drove attacks on White Tiger Stockade 45. Chen Guan consumed the pill before it could obtain it and gained the Vajra Body. Unable to injure him, the Great Demon was ultimately killed; Chen Guan received 6,000 years of Demon Lifespan for the kill 49 50.

Appearance

As Mr. Zhao, the Great Demon could pass as a human. When it dropped that disguise, its skin and flesh tore away to reveal its demonic form 47.
