Chen Shouyi hunted down the man-eating demon, then entered cult-controlled Dongning to rescue Qin Shufen and Chen Yuwei. After fighting his way out and escorting them to Ningzhou, he noticed the military buildup and continued strengthening his body.

• Chen Shouyi developed the Thirty-Six Forms of Hardening and trained until the practice improved his physique, while police investigated a series of killings at Jiangnan Martial Arts Academy.
• Chen Shouyi saw through the man-eating demon’s illusions and killed it, then returned home and discovered his unusual teeth had grown back.
• Chen Shouyi traveled toward Dongning after learning his uncle’s family might be in danger, evaded the military blockade, and entered the occupied city.
• Chen Shouyi learned that the God of Hunting’s church had seized Dongning and that his uncle had been sacrificed, so he prepared to take Qin Shufen and Chen Yuwei away.
• When cultists and residents tried to stop them, Chen Shouyi killed many attackers and fought his way through the city with his aunt and cousin.
• Chen Shouyi fought off pursuing Barbarians and their Warbirds, suffered serious wounds, and recovered after eating a dead Warbird.

Chen Shouyi destroyed the Hunting God Church’s lair in Ningzhou and returned home, where he confronted a spreading parasite outbreak and dangerous spirits. When a Giant Beast emerged at Guangming Reservoir, he joined the military response as one of Jiangnan Province’s two Martial Masters.

• Chen Shouyi infiltrated barbarian-controlled Ningzhou, killed Cao Weizhong and Xiao Changming, and guided fighter jets to bomb the Hunting God Church’s lair.
• Chen Shouyi fought and killed a powerful barbarian after the bombing, then returned home and resumed training.
• Chen Shouyi helped villagers and officials deal with Otherworld Creatures, attended Xiao Changming’s memorial, and learned that creatures were appearing more often in remote areas.
• Chen Shouyi accompanied Chen Xingyue’s class to a funeral home, where parasites emerged from corpses and a spirit possessed Tian Zhenzhen.
• Chen Shouyi drove the spirit from Tian Zhenzhen and cleared the funeral home of spirits, then taught Chen Xingyue how focused willpower could unleash spiritual power.
• As parasite larvae spread around Guangming Reservoir and infected residents appeared in the secure zone, Chen Shouyi checked on his family and brought insecticide to Chen Yuwei and his aunt.
• A Giant Beast swallowed workers at Guangming Reservoir and escaped through a Space Channel after a military Depth Charge, so Chen Shouyi rode there with Bai Xiaoling.
• Chen Shouyi met Regiment Commander Gao Yuanshan at the reservoir and was introduced to the assembled martial artists as Jiangnan Province’s Provincial Security Chief Advisor and one of its two Martial Masters.

Chen Shouyi fought the creatures emerging from the reservoir, tested his Giant Battle Body, and discovered that Xiao Changming had become a demon serving a barbarian god. After Xiao Changming killed Lei Ruiyang and devastated a town, Chen fought the God of Hunting and survived, then returned home as Shell Girl began sleeping for longer stretches.

• Chen Shouyi helped defend the reservoir from Otherworld Creatures, killed a metal-skinned beast, and gained the Giant Battle Body talent after the World Tree absorbed its Faith Power and divinity.
• Chen Shouyi tested his giant form and new War Bow, trained in the Otherworld, and learned that Xiao Changming had returned alive and was being honored as a war hero.
• Chen Shouyi visited Xiao Changming, then discovered that the former officer was secretly killing people under the influence of a voice urging him to hunt humans.
• Chen Shouyi identified Xiao Changming in the Book of Knowledge’s Memory Space and killed him there, but later learned that Xiao had become a demon through a scheme by a barbarian god and had destroyed an air force base.
• Xiao Changming killed Lei Ruiyang and escaped Hedong, then slaughtered a town and attacked the helicopter carrying Chen Shouyi and Sun Ding.
• The God of Hunting revealed himself through Xiao Changming and fought Chen Shouyi, who endured the god’s attacks before the god abandoned the battle and walked away.
• Chen Shouyi returned to Hedong with the survivors and reported his encounter with the God of Hunting, then warned his parents to stay careful and learned that the newspaper reported Lei Ruiyang’s death but not Xiao Changming’s crimes.
• Chen Shouyi declined Zhang Jianfeng’s offer to direct the Third Affairs Investigation Bureau, while Shell Girl began waking only every day or two.
