Background

Jiang Chulong is the youngest daughter of the Great Yu Emperor and an Innate Sword Fetus. At fourteen, her elder brother Jiang Yu—then the Crown Prince—seized her Heavenly Venerable Emperor Sword Bone. Though the theft severely damaged her foundation and vitality, the Sword Bone had originated from her and did not define her potential. 55

She was later banished for a political marriage, escaped with help from an acquaintance of her late mother, and became a hunted fugitive. By the time Li Mo found her in Mud Horn Alley, she was a critically ill beggar living alongside other children. 55 56 63

Li Mo treated her injuries, fed her and the other children, and gradually earned her trust. Mei Yun, a wounded former sword attendant of Heavenly Mountain Sword Villa, secretly protected Jiang Chulong as her mother's old acquaintance. 56 57 105

After resonating with the Ancient Intent Ring, Jiang Chulong entered Li Mo's Small World and met his “Primordial Heavenly Venerable” persona. Believing him to be an ancient remnant soul, she accepted him as her teacher and resolved to become strong enough to revive her mother. 61 62 63

Appearance

Jiang Chulong is initially depicted as a thin, frail girl in oversized linen clothing, often with a grimy face and her gray-white eyes covered by cloth strips. Her eyes are highly sensitive to sunlight; she later uses sunglasses supplied by Li Mo. 57 108 438 495

  • Usually carries a branch or sword despite her small, delicate build. 98 163
  • Wore Li Mo's cleaned, oversized former work clothes while helping at the hotpot restaurant. 108
  • Her clothing and blindfold fall away during her decisive battle with Jiang Yu, exposing her gray-white eyes. 530
  • By her journey to the Imperial Capital, she is described as having changed from a sickly beggar into a confident young lady. 459

Personality

Jiang Chulong is timid, soft-spoken, and deeply self-effacing. Even after gaining remarkable sword skill, she apologizes to defeated opponents and credits her teacher rather than herself. 63 178

Her hardship made her unusually frugal and practical: she treasures food, picks up discarded items, and initially sees herself as useful only when she can help Li Mo at the restaurant. 57 98 108 Despite this insecurity, she is compassionate toward the beggar children and remains concerned for others even while ill. 55 57

Beneath her gentleness is an unusually stubborn will. She trains for roughly twelve hours a day, repeatedly challenges stronger projections after defeat, and ultimately chooses to confront Jiang Yu herself rather than retreat from the fear he represents. 81 350 528
