The Navigator had one fatal weakness.
According to the rules, he always returned to the same fixed location. In other words, even if he traveled to another world to hide, he would still return to his current location.
Alvin couldn't be sure whether this Demon Forge Palace was in reality or in the Warp.
In other words, no matter what the Time Flow Rate was, if this place was in the Warp, then time had lost all meaning. Even if he patiently waited a hundred years, when he returned, the "time" here would probably still be at the exact moment he had left!
