Nature
Daemons are entities born from the Warp, a realm shaped by the emotions and thoughts of intelligent life. Hatred, anger, violence, lust, and other extreme negative emotions give rise to them. The Warp itself is described as a place without conventional matter, life, time, or rules. 18
Psychics are especially conspicuous to Daemons. When Alvin enters the Warp, his soul appears to them as a burning flame, drawing their attention from all directions. Each use of psychic power creates Warp ripples that can attract Daemons; greater psychic strength brings greater danger. 18
Manifestations
| Form | Description |
|---|---|
| Lesser Daemons | Daemonic hordes can emerge through Warp breaches and overwhelm defensive lines through sheer numbers, though Astartes can cut through them with coordinated firepower and Power weapons. 137 |
| Khorne Daemons | Massive, muscular, deep-red entities clad in rough brass armor; they attack in fearless waves from Warp rifts. 676 |
| Daemonettes | Lesser servants of Slaanesh that use unnatural movement, sensory corruption, seduction, and numerical advantage against their prey. 1026 |
| Greater Daemons | Vastly powerful Warp entities capable of overpowering ordinary Astartes, wielding immense psychic power, and summoning additional Chaos forces. 154 |
| Daemon Primarchs | Daemonic ascensions of Primarch-level beings. Angron is identified as Khorne's “Living Engine of War,” driven by rage and slaughter. 671 |
| Daemon Engines | Daemons forcibly bound into mechanical shells, creating war machines designed for bloodthirsty destruction. 78 |

Daemon Engine Binding
A Daemon Engine is created by forcibly extracting a Daemon from the Warp and imprisoning it within a prepared mechanical body.
- The bound Daemon cannot leave its “vehicle,” but its rage and malice make the resulting engine a devastating weapon. 78
- Construction requires a powerful Psychic and a master mechanic, yet remains highly unstable and dangerous. 78
