Appearance

Jogo has a short, stocky body and a volcanic head dominated by a single eye. His body produces flames, smoke, magma, and heat when his anger rises.

  • Volcano-like head with one large eye 56
  • Seven openings across his face that can erupt with flame 64
  • Capable of transforming into magma to escape or move between locations 114
  • Regenerated his left arm after it was severed, though only after recovering at Mount Fuji 95 128

Personality

Jogo is intensely proud, hot-tempered, and quick to accept a challenge. He repeatedly underestimates opponents who appear weaker than himself, particularly Toji Fushiguro, but becomes visibly fearful after experiencing the strength of the Gojo brothers 54 56 57 128.

Despite his arrogance, Jogo is deeply loyal to the other disaster curses. Hanami, Dagon, and Mahito are treated as family, and the deaths of Dagon and Hanami provoke genuine grief and rage. His strongest display of loyalty is his willingness to lose an arm to protect Mahito, whom he believes possesses unlimited potential 66 70 95.

Jogo believes cursed spirits will eventually inherit the world from humanity. His hatred of humans remains unwavering even at the moment of his death 114 129.

Abilities & Skills

Volcanic Cursed Technique

Jogo manipulates flames, magma, heat, and volcanic phenomena. His attacks are suited to both close combat and large-scale destruction.

  • Creates volcanic craters that erupt with magma and flames 56
  • Fires swarms of explosive flying insects 56
  • Forms defensive walls of intense flame 128
  • Uses large-area fire attacks against cities, sorcerers, and cursed spirits 58 64
  • His attacks are unable to bypass Gojo Satoru's Infinity without special circumstances 56 94

Maximum: Meteor

Maximum: Meteor summons a colossal flaming meteor capable of devastating a wide area.

  • Nearly kills Toji Fushiguro at point-blank range 129
  • Can overwhelm or destroy large sections of the surrounding landscape 64
  • Jogo deliberately redirected the attack toward Mount Fuji, triggering an eruption after three hundred years of dormancy 129
  • The technique can be used by Jogo himself but not by the artificial Jogo copies created through Geto's Bestow technique 64

Domain Expansion: Coffin of the Iron Mountain

Coffin of the Iron Mountain creates a volcanic domain centered on Jogo's fire and magma.

  • Used against Gojo Satoru during their first confrontation 56
  • Its domain clash with Unlimited Void ended in Jogo's complete defeat 57
  • Jogo later developed a 0.2-second version to avoid having his Domain immediately neutralized by opponents with Heavenly Restriction or anti-domain tools 129
  • The shortened version provides a brief visual, proactive guaranteed hit rather than relying entirely on the Domain's normal recognition of its targets 129

Cursed Spirit Physiology and Regeneration

As a special-grade cursed spirit, Jogo can survive and recover from severe physical damage.

  • Survived having his head torn off by Gojo Satoru and later returned to combat 56 57
  • Regenerated his left arm after returning to Mount Fuji 128
  • Could not immediately restore the arm severed by a soul-targeting attack, even when Mahito used Idle Transfiguration 95

Cursed Energy and Combat Ability

Jogo possesses enormous cursed energy and is regarded by Kenjaku as stronger than ordinary special-grade cursed spirits.

  • Described as the strongest of the Four Great Disaster Curses 50
  • Kenjaku estimated his power at roughly seven or eight of Sukuna's Fingers 54
  • Combines high-speed close combat with volcanic attacks 56 64
  • His straightforward fighting style becomes vulnerable to deceptive tactics, as shown by Geto's creation of multiple Jogo copies 64

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Realm-Breaking Vajra Pestle — A one-use cursed tool created by Kenjaku to counter the Six Eyes. It distorts space for approximately one second and allowed Jogo to escape Suguru Geto after their battle; the tool was destroyed afterward. 64 70
  • Prison Realm — Jogo carried the Prison Realm during the operation against Gojo Satoru and helped Kenjaku's group secure their target. 84 94

Relationships

  • Kenjaku — Strategic ally and leader of the cursed-spirit faction. Jogo often resents Kenjaku's schemes and blames him for the dangers faced by the disaster curses, but continues cooperating with him. 50 54 70
  • Hanami — Family-like companion whom Jogo protects. Hanami's injuries and death cause him intense anger and grief. 54 70 94
  • Dagon — Fellow disaster curse whom Jogo treats as a younger family member. Dagon's death drives Jogo to seek revenge against Gojo Sawa. 66 70
  • Mahito — Fellow disaster curse. Jogo believes Mahito has the greatest potential among the four and sacrifices his arm to protect him. 54 95
  • Gojo Satoru — Enemy who defeats Jogo in their first battle, tears off his arm, and later kills Hanami while targeting Mahito. Jogo develops lasting fear of his strength. 56 57 83 84 94
  • Gojo Sawa — Enemy whose overwhelming power exceeds Jogo's expectations. Jogo avoids confronting him directly after seeing him defeat Kenjaku and Hanami. 54 57 77
  • Suguru Geto — Opponent who defeats Jogo through close combat, Bestow, and Maximum: Uzumaki. 64
  • Ryomen Sukuna — Hostile ally who effortlessly dismembers Jogo after his revival. 79
  • Toji Fushiguro and Maki Zenin — Final opponents. Together, they exploit Jogo's weaknesses, defeat him, and redirect his final Meteor into Mount Fuji. 128 129

Story Role / Major Arcs

Kenjaku's Alliance

Jogo first appears alongside Kenjaku, Hanami, Mahito, and Dagon as part of the group attempting to revive Sukuna and use Itadori Yuji as a vessel. He is immediately established as impulsive and confrontational, repeatedly pressing Kenjaku to begin the operation against the Gojo brothers 50 54.

After Gojo Satoru defeats him, Jogo escapes with Hanami's help. The experience destroys much of his confidence, and he admits that he was no match for Gojo Satoru 56 57.

National Disaster Operation

Jogo is responsible for the destruction in Hokkaido during the coordinated disaster attacks by the special-grade cursed spirits 58 64. He later confronts Suguru Geto, abandoning the original plan to stall for time because he believes he can kill Geto directly.

Geto overwhelms him by creating multiple Jogo copies through Bestow. Jogo uses Maximum: Meteor and escapes with the Realm-Breaking Vajra Pestle when the battle turns against him 64.

Dagon's Death and the Shibuya Conflict

After Dagon is killed by Gojo Sawa, Jogo attempts to rush into battle for revenge. Mahito and Hanami restrain him while Kenjaku insists on continuing the larger plan 70.

During the later conflict, Jogo helps protect Mahito and participates in the assault on Gojo Satoru. He loses his left arm and is severely injured, but survives the operation that results in Gojo Satoru's sealing 83 84.

When Hanami is killed by Gojo Satoru, Jogo attempts to stop the attack but is unable to overcome Infinity. He then carries the Prison Realm to the confrontation between Kenjaku's forces, Sukuna, and the special-grade sorcerers 94.

Declaration of War

Jogo independently declares war on Jujutsu High and threatens to provoke an eruption at Mount Fuji. He challenges Toji Fushiguro to meet him there, intending to use the volcano as a battlefield 114.

Final Battle and Death

At Mount Fuji, Jogo recovers his severed arm while feeding on the fear surrounding the volcano. He initially dismisses Toji because Toji possesses no cursed energy, but Toji's speed and physical strength quickly overwhelm him. Maki joins the fight, forcing Jogo into close combat and preventing him from freely using wide-area attacks 128.

Jogo activates Coffin of the Iron Mountain for only 0.2 seconds, creating a brief guaranteed-hit opening before using Maximum: Meteor. Toji takes the full force of the meteor to protect Maki, while Maki and Choubou later disarm Jogo and decapitate him 129.

Jogo's body begins to regenerate, but he uses his final attack against Mount Fuji rather than his opponents. The resulting impact triggers the volcano's eruption, after which Jogo's soul dissipates 129.
