Background

Cheng Ze was a streamer who died in a gas explosion following a livestream accident. He awakened in the world of jujutsu as the elder twin of Gojo Satoru. Initially treated as a potential burden under the Gojo Clan’s superstition surrounding twins, he was spared when he revealed a second pair of Six Eyes and was named Gojo Taku. Retaining knowledge of the original story’s future, he resolved to protect Satoru from the fate he expected him to face. 1

Sawa began an extreme training regimen as a child and forced Satoru to train alongside him. By age six, his mastery of the Limitless and True Martial Style had already broken Gojo Clan training records. 2

Appearance

Sawa closely resembles Satoru: he has white hair, pale-blue Six Eyes, and often wears sunglasses. During his final battle with Sukuna, his eyes deepened into a star-filled appearance. 7 49 131

  • White hair and eyelashes. 7
  • Azure Six Eyes capable of extreme observation and analysis. 1 13
  • Usually wears sunglasses similar to Satoru’s. 14 49
  • His awakened eyes appear to contain an endless starry sky. 131

Personality

Sawa is disciplined, deliberate, and intensely protective of those close to him. His childhood training was motivated by a desire to ensure that he and Satoru could survive the threats ahead of them. 2

He is also mocking, mischievous, and fond of humiliating friends through wagers and pranks. He repeatedly uses bets to make Satoru and Geto attend conventions in embarrassing cosplay, then keeps photographic evidence for blackmail. 6 9 10

Although he rejects abstract rhetoric about protecting the weak, Sawa values the world and acts to preserve it because he personally wants to live in it. He distinguishes ignorance from deliberate cruelty: he can forgive fools, but regards malicious people as “scum” deserving punishment. 25 35 37

His pragmatism can become ruthless. He massacred the Star Religious Group after the Star Plasma Vessel incident and later devised a false report of his own incapacitation to expose corruption among the jujutsu higher-ups. 25 96

Abilities & Skills

Six Eyes

Sawa’s Six Eyes grant extraordinary perception of cursed energy, techniques, and minute physical changes.

  • Detected that Zenin and Kamo competitors were destroying themselves with weakened hereditary techniques. 13
  • Observed enough information to identify the nature of Cursed Spirit Manipulation and infer the condition for Suguru Geto to extract cursed techniques. 55
  • Can operate the Six Eyes at maximum output for prolonged study, though doing so risks overwhelming his brain. 78

Limitless

Sawa inherited the Gojo Clan’s Limitless technique and developed its applications from an early age.

  • Infinity / Absolute Defense — Creates an invisible spatial barrier that stops incoming attacks. 2 77
  • Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue — Generates attraction, can tear apart targets, and enables long-distance teleportation. 2 3
  • Cursed Technique Reversal: Red — Produces overwhelming repulsion; Sawa used it to devastate Toji Fushiguro. 23
  • Hollow Technique: Purple — Combines Blue and Red into imaginary mass. 24
  • Three Thousand Candle Illumination — A large-scale Purple variation created by merging thousands of Blue and Red spheres. 67
  • Limit — The Inverted Spear of Heaven can nullify Limitless-based techniques, allowing Toji to bypass Sawa’s defenses. 21

Reverse Cursed Technique

Sawa awakened Reverse Cursed Technique after surviving Toji’s attack.

  • Restores severe injuries and allows him to continue fighting after critical damage. 23
  • Used in conjunction with his domain to halt Kaori Itadori’s self-destruction and repair her body. 75
  • Intended to use it to restore his brain while studying barrier techniques without rest. 78

True Martial Style

Sawa mastered the Gojo Clan’s comprehensive martial-arts system, which incorporates swordsmanship, fists, palms, kicks, sumo, and other disciplines. 2

  • Two Days One Sun — A Niten Ichi-ryu-derived thrusting technique with no blind spots. 21
  • Can land Black Flashes repeatedly during close-quarters combat. 21
  • His skill was comparable to Toji’s, but Toji’s Heavenly Restriction gave him superior physical strength, speed, and senses. 21

Domain Expansion: Land of No Dust

Sawa’s Domain Expansion, later called Dustless Domain, removes cursed energy from everyone caught inside.

  • Prevents targets from using innate techniques, Reverse Cursed Technique, or Domain Expansion. 32
  • The removed cursed energy truly disappears rather than being transferred to Sawa or merely concealed. 116
  • Is ineffective against opponents without cursed energy, such as Toji Fushiguro. 32
  • Can be compressed into a small projectile rather than manifested as a conventional barrier. 95

Barrier Techniques

Sawa sought Tengen’s full millennium of barrier knowledge to build defenses capable of stopping Kenjaku.

  • Requested instruction in sealing, defensive, and concealment barriers rather than a single discipline. 78
  • His later domain manipulation astonished other Special Grade sorcerers. 95 96

Maximum Techniques

  • Maximum Technique: Cosmos — Elevates Sawa’s movement speed to a level Sukuna could barely perceive. 130
  • Maximum Technique: Purity — Used during the final battle against Sukuna; its activation carries immense cursed-energy cost. 131 132

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Playful Cloud — A special-grade cursed tool purchased by Sawa at the Three Great Families’ banquet. 5
  • Sukuna’s Fingers — Kept two fingers in a gilded box after receiving one from Yuta and one from Toji. 78
  • Sunglasses — Regularly worn despite possessing the Six Eyes. 14 49

Relationships

  • Gojo Satoru — Younger twin brother. Sawa trains, teases, and protects Satoru, while Satoru openly acknowledges Sawa as stronger. 2 11 117
  • Suguru Geto — Close friend and combat partner. Sawa helps Geto find a way to consume cursed spirit orbs, challenges his beliefs, and fights beside him against Toji and Kenjaku. 9 23 35 94
  • Ieiri Shoko — Longtime friend since their childhood banquet meeting; they later cooperate professionally on the Death Paintings. 5 7 78
  • Toji Fushiguro — Old acquaintance and rival. Their battle drove Sawa’s awakening of Reverse Cursed Technique; Toji later left the Sorcerer Killer profession to honor a debt to him. 20 23 25
  • Riko Amanai — The Star Plasma Vessel Sawa helps protect. He doubts the morality of her forced merger with Tengen and arranges an additional day of freedom for her. 18 19
  • Tengen — A distrustful ally and later barrier instructor. Sawa repeatedly questions Tengen’s reliability and demands access to Tengen’s barrier knowledge. 40 58 78
  • Yuta Okkotsu — Disciple. Sawa introduces Yuta to jujutsu, recruits him as a student, and supports his growth into a Special Grade. 43 49
  • Itadori Yuji — Student and Sukuna’s vessel. Sawa saves him, blocks his execution, and personally trains him through dangerous missions. 52 54 140
  • Junpei Yoshino — Student aided by Sawa after prolonged bullying. Sawa exposes the school’s corrupt principal and pushes Junpei to recognize his own strength. 140
