Background / History

Lynn was originally a low-level Viper Academy apprentice living in Veil Town after failing the Academy assessment. Burdened by a monthly loan, he attempted to earn Magic Stones through low-quality potion refining and black-market sales. He was ambushed on his return from the black market, mortally wounded, and performed Karl's Divine Mark in his final attempt to become a Formal Wizard. Karl answered the ritual, refined Lynn's body into a clone, and replaced his consciousness; Lynn's remaining memories were sealed for later use 317.

Although Karl initially considered the body untalented and weak, Lynn's persistence and existing Flame-branch foundation made it viable. He repaired the Meditation Method, learned Blood Boiling, refined increasingly successful Tranquility Potions, and cleared his Academy debt. His new caution led him to refuse social invitations, cultivate in seclusion, and investigate the people behind his earlier ambushes 318 319 320 321.

During the Abyss Invasion of Veil Town, Lynn escaped through the monster-infested streets, rescued Isaiah and Pips, and used Blazing Flames Roar to open a path out of the encirclement. After the invasion, he investigated Susan's disappearance and found blue down at the site where she had last been seen 324 328.

Lynn was exceptionally recalled to Viper Academy as a formal apprentice and became Gito's disciple. Gito intended to use him as material for Bloodline Plunder, but Lynn secretly mastered the inherited technique, exploited Angus's remote mental attack, and devoured Gito's bloodline instead. This allowed him to advance to the Formal Wizard realm in less than a year 327 333 334.

As a Formal Wizard, Lynn supported Viper Academy's operations through potion refining while pursuing stronger flames and bloodlines. He allied with Maki against Xize and the Skin Wizard Carpenter, killed Xize, and used the Great Yan Witch Lineage to strengthen his own foundation. He later restored Susan's consciousness within her Hundred-Faced Demon body and accepted Julia's recruitment offer in exchange for the complete Great Yan Witch Lineage inheritance 344 346 349 352 353.

Lynn entered the Titan Core with Viper Academy personnel and Roer Family agents. There, he progressed through the Second and Third Rings, revealed his Fire Dragon form, and ultimately used the Titan Core's energy to reach the Fourth Ring 357 361 369 373.

The original Lynn's defining trait was stubborn determination: even as he died from an ambush, his final obsession was becoming a Formal Wizard rather than seeking revenge. Karl recognizes this resolve and preserves the body as his clone 317.

After Karl's possession, Lynn becomes intensely pragmatic, secretive, and methodical. He avoids unnecessary risks, hides his real strength, uses deception against stronger enemies, and acts decisively once he identifies a threat. He is willing to use torture, Puppet Techniques, bloodline devouring, and prearranged traps when survival or advancement demands it 329 333 356.

Despite this ruthlessness, Lynn retains a sense of responsibility toward people he considers friends. He repays Susan's help, searches for her after her disappearance, works to restore her sanity, protects Isaiah during the Abyss Invasion, and offers Maki an escape route before confronting two stronger Wizards 320 324 344 349.
