King's Landing's Cobbler's Square was a fairly prosperous market square. Besides the shops of various sizes lining the streets, many scattered peddlers also did business from leather-canopied stalls in the middle of the square.
The square mainly dealt in leather goods. Thus, the goods transported back from the North by large and small caravans along the King's Road were inevitably distributed here.
Cobbler's Square had four entrances: the northwest entrance, a stairway alley near Gods' Gate; the northeast gravel street leading to Old Gate and Rhaenys's Hill;
the southwest intersection near Iron Street and Lion Gate; and the southeast flagstone street leading to the Great Sept of Baelor.
