Background / History

Xue Ke was originally Zhang Wenbiao, a student who died of a heart attack while struggling with advanced mathematics. She awoke in the body of six-year-old Princess Xue Ke of the Heaven Dou Empire, retaining the memories and mentality of her previous life. Her first major decision in this new life was to awaken her Martial Soul and seek control over her own fate rather than accept the expected life of a royal princess. 1 5

She quickly recognized that her apparent elder brother, Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, was actually Qian Renxue in disguise. Although Qian Renxue initially viewed Xue Ke’s talent and Emperor Xue Ye’s attention as threats to her infiltration mission, their relationship developed into a deep partnership. Xue Ke ultimately chose Martial Soul Hall’s side, believing it offered ordinary people the chance to alter their destinies through Martial Soul awakening. 5 39

At Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Xue Ke joined the Imperial Fighting Team and established herself as its strongest member by effortlessly defeating captain Yu Tianheng. Her plans included treating Dugu Yan’s inherited poison, gaining access to Dugu Bo’s Ice and Fire Yin Yang Pot, and obstructing Tang San’s rise. 9 10 120

Tang Hao’s surprise attack forced Xue Ke to abandon her earlier confidence in foreknowledge alone. After recovering in the Dao Demon Space, she devoted herself more seriously to obtaining personal strength. 30

Xue Ke later became involved with Martial Soul Hall through Hu Liena, Chrysanthemum Douluo, Bibi Dong, and Qian Daoliu. She sought to reconcile Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue while building political support for a future continental unification. 69 82 186

Following the Heaven Dou succession crisis, Xue Ke defeated Xue Xing’s forces, became the empire’s sole successor, and was eventually maneuvered onto the throne by Xue Ye and Chu Yunfei. She later became Emperor of the Heavenly Martial Empire and led the unification of the Douluo Continent. 238 240 273 278 280

Appearance

Xue Ke has silver hair and brown eyes. At age six, she is described as a fair, tender child; by adolescence, her appearance attracts significant attention from academy students and prospective suitors. 1 9

  • Silver hair, shared visually with Xue Qinghe’s assumed identity. 1
  • Brown eyes that become notably resolute after Tang Hao’s attack. 30
  • Manifests emerald-green wings when using her Jade Swan Martial Soul. 66
  • Manifests dark wings nearly two meters long when using the Dark Flame Emperor Goose Martial Soul. 73

Personality

Xue Ke is strategic, ambitious, and unusually mature for her age due to her memories of her previous life. She consistently evaluates people and institutions according to whether they can serve her wider goal of protecting Qian Renxue and changing the continent’s political order. 1 39 247

Her pragmatism can become manipulative or ruthless. She uses allies, political rivals, and even Tang San as pieces in larger plans; she also kills Clear Sky Sect disciples after deciding they would become future threats. 89 247 266

Despite this, Xue Ke is compassionate toward those she considers vulnerable or worthy of protection. She saves the Blazing Nether Thunder Dragon’s child, treats Dugu Yan’s poison, mentors Wei Xi, and respectfully trains Tianxue City’s guards. 51 120 202
