"What truth? What I'm saying now is the truth. Is there a problem? Besides, this isn't a secret. Galaxy Power carries your angels' sequence, but its core still belongs to our Shenhe Civilization. The question of where Galaxy Power will ultimately end up isn't a secret to your angels, and it isn't a secret to us in Shenhe, either."
Angel Yan thought about it and realized he was right. After all, Ge Xiaolun and Galaxy Power had a lot in common, so even a guess would have been enough to figure it out. The Shenhe Civilization couldn't possibly be unaware of what was going on between her and Galaxy Power.
In the end, what she needed was Galaxy Power, not Ge Xiaolun. The only reason she and Ge Xiaolun were connected was that he happened to inherit the Galaxy Power gene.
"I'm classmates with the current Galaxy Power. He seems to have fallen for Du Qiangwei, Ducao's daughter. That's quite a challenge for you."
"Du Qiangwei has the Space-Time Gene and will live forever, so waiting a hundred or even a thousand years for him isn't very realistic. You're under quite a bit of pressure."
To be honest, he rather hoped Angel Yan and Ge Xiaolun would end up together. As for Qiangwei, he wasn't too fond of her. Besides, Du Qiangwei looked down on Ge Xiaolun, so he might as well leave her to Morgana.
Angel Yan paused before answering. "The current Galaxy Power is still a child. It's perfectly normal for him to be developing feelings at this age. He isn't Galaxy Power yet, and he can't understand the responsibilities he'll bear in the future."
"So even if he's fallen for someone else right now, I'm still willing to give him time and wait patiently. After all, a god's feelings are different from a mortal's."
When she went to Earth, she'd seen Ge Xiaolun. Honestly, if he hadn't carried the Galaxy Power sequence inside him, she wouldn't have given him the time of day.
Angel City, back garden
"Hexi, I've already sent Yan to bring your Male God here. How do you feel? Excited?"
"Get lost, you old woman. How many years has it been, and you're still bringing up my Male God? We're both single after all these millennia. You should be thinking about yourself." Hexi shot back irritably.
In the garden, the two Queens had shed their usual dignity and looked more like close friends sharing secrets.
"I'm serious. Do you remember that Prince of Shenhe Civilization from back then? The one who was a perfect match for you? He was sealed away after that accident, but now he's awakened on Earth. Don't you want to see him? His genes are far stronger than Galaxy Power's."
"So you mean that little brat. It's been so long I'd nearly forgotten about him. But you're right—his genes are indeed much stronger than Galaxy Power's."
"Then let's go ahead with the plan we discussed. I'll trade myself for his future. It'll be a good thing for me, too. But have you considered what we'll do if the Shenhe Civilization suddenly recovers one day?"
"If that happens, there's no way I could tie him completely to the war chariot of the Angel Civilization on my own."
Hexi set down her teacup. Thinking back, she'd been tricked by her good friend over that match. Otherwise, she wouldn't have suddenly found herself with a Male God.
"If all else fails, we'll figure something else out. With so many goddesses in our Angel Civilization, surely we can find someone suitable." Keisha was unconcerned. She firmly believed Hexi's charm was more than enough to handle this rather immature Male God.
"You're certainly taking it in stride. But you're right; this could be a good thing for us. Since he's here, I'll meet him."
"But he's lived on Earth for so long that he must have developed some attachment to it. When the time comes, should I go back to Earth with him, or stay here?"
"After all, you should think this over again, shouldn't you?"
"The Angel Civilization can still run for at least five thousand years under your leadership. In that time, you can take care of a lot of things, and the next generation of angels will have plenty of room to grow."
"Even if Enixide hasn't fully grown into the King of Angels by then, Angel Yan can still build up a strong following among the next generation through her reputation."
"Hexi, it's not that I don't want to. It's just that things have reached a point where I can no longer decide how they'll unfold. And this is only a premonition of mine; it may not come true."
"If something really does happen to me, then the greatest burden of the entire Angel Civilization will fall on you." With things having reached this stage, Holy Keisha, King of Angels and King of Gods, had to make a decision: the Angel Civilization would have to rise from the ashes and survive by embracing death.
"Understood. Then we'll have to make arrangements for what comes next. Poor me—I have to deal with my Male God and protect Heavenly City, while you didn't even think to teach Angel Yan how to think like a queen." Hexi sounded concerned. Yan had always thought like a soldier: she was an executor, not a strategist. Having a ruler like that wasn't good for a civilization in its early stages.
"That's why I need you to help me protect Angel City. I've lost my edge. The Order of Justice has been enforced for over ten thousand years. If we don't change, the Angel Civilization may well follow in the footsteps of the Shenhe Civilization."
The destruction of the Shenhe Civilization had always haunted her. Its sudden fall was shrouded in mystery, and no one knew what had caused it. Later, Space Principal, who had become the will of the universe, and Death God Karl, who had fled to the Netherworld, both claimed that the Shenhe Civilization had been destroyed because of the Void.
"Your Majesty, Your Highness Hexi, I've brought him." Angel Yan bowed slightly. As the Left-Wing Guardian, she didn't have to perform the same deep bow as the other angels when greeting the Queen—except on special occasions, of course.
"Greetings, Queen Keisha and Queen Hexi." Su Xingchen bowed slightly. He was the Prince of Shenhe Civilization and its future supreme ruler, with a status equal to Holy Keisha's, but he still had to observe the basic courtesies.
"Have a seat. I'm sure you know why we asked you here. Besides, we've met before. If you hadn't been sealed away, you'd probably have had little angels with Hexi as big as Yan by now." Keisha joked.
"Your Majesty, you certainly know how to joke. It'll be a while before there are any little angels. In a sense, Hexi and I haven't even figured out our feelings for each other yet."
"The angels want my future, and I need the angels' present. You could say our relationship is built on cooperation. In Earth's terms, it's a marriage alliance."
