History
Eastsea City was introduced as the home of the Chen Clan and its young master, Chen Ye. The clan's influence extended beyond private wealth: its Second Master served as City Lord, it supported Eastsea Academy financially, and its authority was regarded as greater than the municipal government's. 1 10 23
The city became the setting for Chen Ye's early education at Eastsea Primary Academy and Eastsea Academy. The latter drew promising students from the city and surrounding towns, including Tang Wulin, who entered on a recommendation earned through forging. 12 22
Chen Ye's rise repeatedly demonstrated the Chen Clan's local power. After he defeated the thug Guang Long for harassing a restaurant owner, officials swiftly removed Guang Long and his associates. The city was also threatened by an evil Soul Master after Eastsea Academy teacher Zhou Changxi was found dead, with his soul and martial soul missing. 37
The city hosted the East Sea Soul Master Tournament, later associated with the Skysea Alliance Competition. Chen Ye's diary predicted that Eastsea Academy's Zero Class would challenge Shrek's youth team and that Chen Ye would take first place; the competition subsequently became a major source of attention around the city. 41 64
After Shrek Academy pressured the Chen Family into relocating core members and assets to the Star Luo Empire, Chen Ye departed through Eastsea City's port. The Chen Clan sent selected elites, three Soul Douluo-level elders, and roughly one-tenth of its assets to establish itself abroad. 103 104
Three years later, Eastsea City residents became especially vocal in condemning Shrek Academy when news of Chen Ye's and Xie Xie's successes spread. Many remembered that Chen Ye had been forced to leave his hometown as a child, and city-based public opinion turned sharply against Shrek. 152
Nearly four years after leaving, Chen Ye returned to a city physically unchanged but politically altered by the Chen Family's decline. His return drew the attention of city officials and surviving Chen Family loyalists, who recognized him as the Young Clan Master. 185
