Azuth knew exactly why Anse had introduced the Spirit Network's new rules, so he had come to him at once.

Even if it was only to set an example for others, Anse would never cheat him. Azuth was certain Anse would never do anything so shortsighted. Soon after, Azuth's divine avatar descended upon Faerun, connected to the Spirit Network, and became a member.

He chose a modest title: "Chief Archmage."

The Spirit Network allowed members to use the same title. At least several thousand others had chosen his, most of them shameless minor mages.

After confirming Azuth's identity, Sacos upgraded his account to a level-two administrator.

Sacos also carved out a private space for him in the Spirit Network World. Much like a Demiplane in the material world, it held a cluster of palaces built from pure magical energy. Its entrance took the shape of Azuth's holy symbol:

Azuth's avatar vanished from the Material Plane and projected itself directly into this "Spirit Network Sanctum."

The moment he entered, he sensed the difference. The distance between him and his followers had vanished. Through the Spirit Network, he could clearly perceive every follower's prayers and beliefs and speak to them directly.

With a thought, he summoned a screen of light. At the top were his divine name and rank.

"Azuth, God of Mages. Lesser Deity. Level-two administrator access..."

The page offered many functions, including follower management, data queries, and a personal account.
