Background

Rhine is a transmigrator from another world who has forgotten his original name after repeated cycles of death and rebirth. The System tasked him with saving the world, resurrecting him after each failure; by his thousandth rebirth, he had died at least eight hundred times through betrayal by his own Imperial Guards. 1

As first heir, Rhine repeatedly ascended the Hain throne in earlier lives. Rhine enters Obadiah's lair alongside Hela and the puppets. When Hela's forces are overwhelmed, he controls and sublimates Sestia into Histia Hela, turning the battle in their favor and securing the Nameless Golden Sword through Lilia. 28 29

The Grand Tutor intervenes through Leta's ley lines and nearly kills Rhine after his puppet's sublimation begins to fail. Constance arrives, receives the golden sword from Rhine, and kills Obadiah with it. Rhine ends the conflict by sparing the Grand Tutor. 31 32 33

Golden Land Operation

After returning to the Imperial Capital, Rhine recognizes that Hela's interference with Lilia has exposed Obadiah's death to the Golden Land. He brings Hela there, destabilizes its goblin leadership, and leaves an uninformed dwarf miner as its apparent authority. 41 44 45

Rhine uses the resulting chaos and Nether Realm corruption as part of a plan to obtain an item within the true Golden Land—an opportunity he never successfully achieved in prior cycles. 47 49

Hela's Corruption

Rhine uses White Vulture's offer to trigger Hela's fear of losing him. Hela abducts Rhine, confesses her love, breaks the Imperial Guard's chastity rule, and declares that his command is her everything. 47 48

As payment under his pact with Olivia, Rhine asks not for another blessing but for Olivia's demons to corrupt Leta. 48
