Background / History

Tian Nina is the daughter of Chinese music professor Tian Mingjian and Hungarian musician/teacher Ildiko Nagy. Her parents met while studying in Austria, married, and Nina was born near the end of 1991. She grew up in China, while her younger brother later went to Hungary with their mother. 7 44

Her parents divorced after prolonged conflict. When Tian Mingjian was publicly accused of murdering a female student, Ildiko took Nina’s brother abroad to escape the resulting harassment; Nina remained with her father because she believed he was innocent.
