Shisui might have the Mangekyō Sharingan too!
That suspicion surfaced in Kakashi's mind. Once he considered it, whoever the mysterious person who attacked Shisui might be, they all had an entirely plausible motive.
Obito had attacked Shisui because he discovered Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan.
Uchiha Tiehuo had led people to attack Shisui to get his Mangekyō Sharingan, giving him a better chance of winning the Hokage election in the future.
Danzo had attacked Shisui for the same reason: he coveted the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Seeing Kakashi fall silent, Youhu knew he had already reached a conclusion. Though he knew the answer, he asked, "Captain Kakashi, have you figured out who the attackers were? Tell me who!"
Kakashi nodded slightly and made no attempt to hide his thoughts. He stated them plainly:
"I think there are three people who might have attacked Shisui. The first is Obito, the second is Tiehuo, and the third... is someone among the village's High Officials."
"And they attacked Shisui because he has the Mangekyō Sharingan."
"The Mangekyō Sharingan?"
At this, Jiraiya and Youhu exchanged a look, both wearing expressions of disbelief.
Jiraiya had never imagined that Shisui might awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan. It wasn't some common eye; it was the eye possessed by Uchiha Madara, and it came with a heavy dose of legend.
Youhu was more concerned about something else. Frowning, he asked, "Captain Kakashi, which High Official are you talking about? Is there really someone in the village who wants to take Brother Shisui's eyes?"
Unlike Youhu, Jiraiya immediately understood which High Official Kakashi meant.
Among Konoha's High Officials, one man had always targeted the Uchiha and advocated taking a hard line against them. That man was Shimura Danzo, whom Jiraiya detested but could do nothing about.
Seeing Jiraiya's expression, Youhu quickly
