Itachi and Mikoto hid within the turtle shell where the logistics personnel on Turtle Island had been stationed. Many ninja and toads there were gathering the bodies of fallen ninja and toads.
Many of Mount Myōboku's toads and logistics ninja were now hiding here.
All they could do was collect the bodies of the fallen. If they did not, those corpses would likely be reduced to ashes in the violent explosions.
This seemed to be an order from the Great Toad Sage.
The aftershock of the battle alone made the entire Turtle Island sway without end, as though it were on a stormy sea.
Itachi's body trembled slightly. "What kind of battle is this?"
Itachi had experienced the Third Shinobi World War. Fugaku had taken the young Itachi to the battlefield, and Itachi had seen a Sea of Corpses and Blood.
But even more terrifying than a Sea of Corpses and Blood was this transcendent destruction, where not even bodies remained. In a battle capable of causing such changes to heaven and earth, it was already fortunate if a fragment of a limb remained for identification.
Mikoto stroked Itachi's head and prayed, hoping the war would end soon. Kushina and the others would not die. Fugaku would not die.
Her elder brother would not die either.
After the shockwaves from the giant Tailed Beast Ball explosion subsided, Mount Myōboku's Toad Stone Forest had already been razed to the ground.
Madara and Liao Wu's battle on foreign ground had both advantages and disadvantages.
The disadvantage was
