Liao Wu established himself in the present, gathered allies, and founded Dusk while pursuing the revival of the Uchiha Clan. After revealing the truth behind the Uchiha Massacre and debating how the clan might have survived, he set Dusk on collecting techniques, reviving the dead, and preserving the balance among the Five Great Shinobi Nations.

• Liao Wu arrived from the Warring States Period, rejected revenge against the Leaf Village, and began rebuilding the Uchiha Clan while claiming Rōran as his base.
• Liao Wu met Sasuke, explained the dangers of Mangekyo use, and proposed using Karin’s Uzumaki cells to protect Sasuke’s eyesight.
• Liao Wu traveled to Mount Myōboku to kill the Great Toad Sage, but found only his stone statue after the sage died to alter his prophetic future.
• Liao Wu revived Orochimaru and Itachi, restored Itachi’s health with White Zetsu Cells, and recruited both into his new organization, Dusk.
• Itachi and Orochimaru recounted the Uchiha’s persecution, coup plans, and massacre, while Liao Wu argued that the clan had needed outside allies and a plan for governing.
• Liao Wu ordered Orochimaru and Snow Leopard to gather DNA from the Uchiha killed in the massacre so he could revive them with Impure World Reincarnation.
• Liao Wu outlined Dusk’s plans to collect Ninjutsu and Kekkei Genkai, build a Ninja Museum, use Akatsuki to preserve unity among the Five Great Shinobi Nations, and recruit more powerful shinobi.

Liao Wu asserted his influence as Sage Riri while courting the Five Great Shinobi Villages and keeping his identity as Uchiha Ryobu hidden from most of the Leaf. As Akatsuki moved to capture the Eight-Tails and Orochimaru formed the Dusk organization, Sasuke’s Hawk Team confronted Killer B.

• Obito learned that Uchiha Nanashi’s Yachihoko could control minds and absorb chakra, then recruited Sasuke into Akatsuki while Jiraiya and Fukasaku urged the Leaf to prepare for threats from Akatsuki and Uchiha Ryobu.
• Gaara learned that Ryobu and Akatsuki could threaten the Sand, but refused Fish Ball’s demand to surrender Temari and agreed to investigate Sage Riri’s envoys.
• Liao Wu sent Candy and Fish Ball to pressure the villages, demanded Tsunade bear him ten Uchiha children, and secretly used Yachihoko and Spore to control Yugao.
• Liao Wu visited Hong with Ino, gave Hong an illusion technique scroll, and promised to protect those close to him and become Hokage.
• Yugao deduced that Liao Wu was Uchiha Ryobu, but Liao Wu implanted Spore and Yachihoko in her and warned her not to expose him.
• Pain postponed confronting Liao Wu while Akatsuki pursued the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails, and Obito sent Sasuke and Hawk Team to capture Killer B.
• Orochimaru recruited Sasori and Kakuzu into Dusk, but Kabuto opposed him and summoned Hanzō, prompting Snow Leopard to summon the Meow Six Paths.
• Sasuke and Hawk Team found Killer B leaving Cloud Thunder Canyon, and Killer B traded insults with them before explaining his ideas about art.

Sasuke’s team fought Killer B, while Itachi intervened to prevent the Akatsuki from reviving the Ten-Tails and sealed the Eight-Tails inside the Totsuka Blade. The Cloud Village captured Sasuke and his companions, while Itachi left them behind and headed for Rōran, where Liao Wu expanded Dusk’s forces.

• Sasuke’s team attacked Killer B, but his swordsmanship and Eight-Tails power overwhelmed them until Sasuke used Amaterasu to bring him down, unaware that they had captured only an octopus-leg clone.
• Itachi pursued the real Killer B and explained that he wanted to stop the Akatsuki from reviving the Ten-Tails, then fought him with Susanoo and sealed the Eight-Tails inside the Totsuka Blade.
• The Fourth Raikage found Killer B alive, learned about the Akatsuki’s plan, and ordered the Cloud Village to track Itachi and recover the Eight-Tails.
• Orochimaru brought Kakuzu, Sasori, and Hanzō to Rōran, where Liao Wu put them to work and ordered Orochimaru to infiltrate the Leaf Village during the Chunin Ninja Exams.
• Killer B’s tentacle clone led the Cloud Village to Sasuke’s team, and Killer B absorbed the tentacle after revealing that he had escaped capture.
• Sasuke learned from the Cloud ninja that Itachi was alive and had protected him, then revealed the truth about the Uchiha massacre before the Fourth Raikage defeated and captured his team.
• Obito chose not to rescue Sasuke, while Itachi decided against intervening and flew toward Rōran as the Cloud Village took Sasuke’s team to Kumogakure.
• Liao Wu assigned Sasori to puppet research and Hanzō to raise giant salamanders, while Orochimaru arrived in Rōran with revived kekkei genkai users and the Sound Four.

Liao Wu brought the Dusk Organization into conflict with the Cloud and Leaf villages over Sasuke, while Obito tried to draw Sasuke into the Akatsuki’s plan. Sasuke rejected Obito and chose revenge against the Leaf and those who had wronged Itachi, while Liao Wu seized control of the Fourth Raikage.

• Orochimaru recruited Pakura, Hizashi, and others into Dusk, while Liao Wu revived Zabuza and drew the former Akatsuki members into the organization.
• After Itachi killed the Eight-Tails, Liao Wu sent proof of its death to the villages and infiltrated Kumogakure as Rogui to advise the Fourth Raikage about Akatsuki and Sasuke.
• Liao Wu persuaded the Fourth Raikage to keep Sasuke in Kumogakure, then refused Shikaku’s request to return him to the Leaf Village.
• Liao Wu pushed Sasuke to leave descendants in the Cloud Village, and Sasuke eventually agreed to join after Suigetsu and Karin urged him to consider the village’s treatment of the Uchiha.
• Root operatives attacked Sasuke’s lodging, and Nue’s explosion destroyed the quarters before Obito transported Sasuke, Suigetsu, and Karin away.
• Obito described his Moon Eye Plan, but Liao Wu arrived with Jugo and exposed Obito’s role in the Uchiha Massacre and the Nine-Tails attack on the Leaf Village.
• Sasuke struck Obito with Amaterasu, forcing him to escape, then told Liao Wu that he sought revenge on the Leaf Village and those who had wronged Itachi.
• When the Fourth Raikage confronted Liao Wu, Liao Wu used his Mangekyo Illusion Technique to take control of him.
