Babu Guanguan was just about to slam the table when Edmund hurriedly added the rest of his sentence.

"But the City Lord has already reserved the best spot on the main street for you and even had several design plans drawn up. We just didn't know what decorating style you preferred, so we didn't dare start construction without permission."

Babu Guanguan's raised hand froze halfway.

"Design plans?"

"Yes."

Edmund quickly pulled several drawings from the document bag he carried and laid them out across the table.

To plan the commercial street, the city's architects had produced dozens of templates in different styles over the past while. Ling Chu had also instructed them in advance to reserve the best location on the main street for Babu Guanguan's shop, so Edmund had picked out several designs most suitable for a storefront.

"This one is Mediterranean style: white walls, a blue roof, and arched doors and windows. There's also an open-air platform in front of the shop where you can place tables, chairs, or merchandise."

Edmund pushed over the second drawing. "This is a vintage nautical style. The exterior mainly uses dark wood and stone, the windows are shaped like ship railings, and the shelves and counter inside will follow the same style."

The third was a magical forest style. Vines covered the walls, glowing magical plants hung beneath the eaves, and even the signboard was designed to look like entwined branches.

Babu Guanguan looked through them one by one, and his previously furrowed brows slowly relaxed.

He could actually choose for himself?

The shop he had run on the island before had been something he built casually. As long as it kept out the wind and rain, it was enough. The shelves had been nailed together from scrap wood he picked up.
