Background / History

Mu Junwu was a tree by nature before Bai Yuan awakened her Spiritual Intelligence. She became his second disciple and pledged to go through “fire and water” for him without hesitation. When Bai Yuan needed a Wood Array Base, she willingly rooted herself within his great formation despite knowing she would be unable to move until a replacement was found. 30 105

As the Wood Array Base, Junwu cultivated the Wood Emperor Longevity Scripture. Her life-attribute Spiritual Qi helped Bai Yuan suppress severe injuries after his battle with Di Tian, and her restorative ability grew substantially after her transformation. 41 87

After fully mastering the Five Elements Array, she confronted the King of Slaughter. Although she could borrow the formation's strength, her inexperience with practical combat and incomplete control of the non-wood elements allowed him to escape. Bai Yuan subsequently gave her the remaining Four Emperor Scriptures, enabling her to develop all five elements. 97 102

The five scriptures caused Junwu to split into five separate elemental bodies. Their eventual reunion creates her complete Five Elements form: a bizarre willow whose roots are earth, trunk is metal, branches are water, leaves are wood, and whose leaves bear inextinguishable fire. 101 105

Junwu later fought the Abyss Saint Monarch, Tang San, and Gu Yun. Her united form could withstand attacks from the Asura Sword, contain opponents within the Five Elements Array, and eventually rise to Half-step God King power. 140 143 183 231

Appearance

In human form, Mu Junwu is portrayed as an exceptionally beautiful woman with emerald-green hair and jade-green eyes. Her expression is usually calm and unreadable, giving her the impression of being closely integrated with nature. 99

  • Her ordinary Wood Body has emerald-green hair and jade-green eyes. 99
  • When fully united, her hair becomes gray-white and her eyes gray-black; five-colored divine light surrounds her. 104 141
  • Her true form is a willow tree hundreds of meters tall embodying the cycle of the Five Elements. 101
  • Her elemental bodies have distinct appearances:
    • Gold Body — white hair, golden eyes, white-and-gold clothing. 103
    • Water Body — ice-blue hair and blue eyes. 103
    • Fire Body — crimson hair and dark-red eyes. 103
    • Earth Body — brown hair and brown eyes. 103
    • Wood Body — emerald-green hair and eyes. 101 103

Personality

Junwu is deeply loyal to Bai Yuan and consistently addresses him as her master or senior brother. She is protective of Bai Yu, blaming herself when the King of Slaughter escapes and fearing for Bai Yu's safety. 30 98

Around strangers, she is restrained, cold, and sparing with words. Around Bai Yuan, however, she can be childlike, naïve, and openly affectionate. Her lack of understanding about relationships between men and women contrasts sharply with her mature appearance and overwhelming power. 99 100 105

She is also selfless toward her divided selves. Before the Five Bodies fully separated, Junwu asked Bai Yuan to treat every body equally, recognizing that each was still part of her and would inherit the others' feelings upon reunion. 106

Five Bodies' Dispositions

  • Gold Body — cold, resentful, and strongly inclined toward killing intent. 106
  • Water Body — quiet, withdrawn, and suspicious. 106
  • Fire Body — upright but hot-tempered; frequently clashes with the Water Body. 106 123
  • Earth Body — simple and honest. 106
  • Wood Body — flirtatious, manipulative, and the most openly affectionate toward Bai Yuan. 106 107

Abilities & Skills

Wood Emperor Longevity Scripture

A wood-element cultivation method centered on vitality, restoration, and survival.

  • Produces powerful restorative Spiritual Qi capable of treating Bai Yuan's injuries. 41 87
  • Allows Junwu to regenerate even after her willow body is cut apart by the Asura Sword. 101 104
  • Protects and restores her soul while she comprehends the Four Emperor Scriptures. 102
  • At its peak, the scripture is described as granting near-immortality and extreme vitality. 41
  • Initially lacks strong killing techniques, leaving Junwu dependent on formations, illusions, and elemental attacks for offense. 102

Five Elements Array Manipulation

As the Wood Array Base and later a master of the formation, Junwu can channel its vast Spiritual Qi and manifest its elemental power.

  • Borrows the array's strength to temporarily reach Half-step Nascent Soul power. 97
  • Creates elemental dragons, barriers, and coordinated attacks across the formation. 97
  • Splits into five great elemental trees stationed in the five directions of the array. 101
  • Seals the Five Elements Array to prevent herself and an enemy from escaping. 141
  • Gains an overwhelming endurance advantage inside the Five Elements Great Formation, where Spiritual Power is effectively boundless. 233

Illusory Arts

Junwu's Wood Body can draw enemies into illusions constructed from their memories and emotional weaknesses.

  • Uses Tang Chen's memories of Bo Saixi and Qian Daoliu to destabilize him. 101 102
  • Can disguise herself as Bo Saixi within an illusion to strike Tang Chen. 101
  • Her illusions expose a trapped opponent's memories, allowing her to target their psychological vulnerabilities. 102
  • The Slaughter Domain's spell-sealing effect fails to suppress the Five Elements Array's attacks. 97

Five Elements Body

Junwu's complete form combines the mutually generating cycle of earth, metal, water, wood, and fire.

  • Splits into five independent elemental bodies when the Five Emperor Scriptures' mutual restraint cannot be resolved. 105
  • Reunites the bodies into a five-element willow tree or a gray-white-haired, gray-black-eyed divine form. 104 140
  • Restores destroyed bodies through dense Life Energy; even decapitated bodies can recover. 104 140
  • Can absorb and transform elemental attacks through the Five Elements' generating cycle. 233
  • Her forcibly merged state cannot yet use conventional spells because the five cultivation techniques have not fully unified. 233

Five-Colored Divine Light

A five-element divine power used for direct suppression and destruction.

  • Neutralizes attacks from God Level opponents wielding the Asura Sword. 141 142
  • Allows her to catch the Asura Sword barehanded and erode its killing aura. 104
  • Forms a five-colored spear capable of piercing space, disintegrating Gu Yun's body, and consuming his Dou Qi. 231
  • Creates a five-colored vortex that can entrap and seal Tang San's Asura Blood Sword. 183 187
  • Uses Water Prison to command seawater and confine opponents. 141
