Provoking the Kangaroo Boss

After that organization fell, most of its members—the young president and the big shot Gonggong among them—had already been eliminated.

Of the higher-ups, only Kangaroo Boss remained.

There was naturally a reason he hadn't been killed.

That reason was Kangaroo's value to scientific research.

The laboratory he controlled had been taken over, but without him overseeing the many research projects, it was clearly unrealistic for anyone else to take them all on.

But Kangaroo was clearly a man of strong character. After becoming a prisoner, he hadn't agreed to switch sides, but he hadn't asked to die, either.

And so things had remained at a stalemate until now.

Kangaroo was being held at the Action Bureau. It wasn't exactly imprisonment, since no prison could offer such good conditions.

People brought him food and drink every day, and whatever he wanted was provided.

Even so, when Jiang Yue saw Kangaroo Boss again, he was a little surprised.

It was still the same person.

But now Kangaroo Boss looked like an inflated version of himself.

Only a few days had passed, yet Kangaroo Boss had put on a good deal of weight, gaining at least ten or twenty pounds.

His face, once pale and gaunt from spending so long in the laboratory, had become much rounder and rosier.

For some reason, seeing Kangaroo now made Jiang Yue think he looked more like a normal person.

Before, in his lab coat and mask, with the marks of the mask on his pale, exhausted face, he'd looked like someone who'd spent far too long cooped up in a laboratory.

Of course, Kangaroo didn't know Jiang Yue.

When Jiang Yue had taken down the president and Kangaroo Boss, he'd been operating under the identity of Deputy Manager Wan.

The president had died without ever knowing
